Set in Turangi, 48 km from Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro River Retreat offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Loved the atmosphere in the hostel. Ian made sure to make your stay as good as possible and helped us where needed for the Tongariro crossing. He gave us walking sticks to use and made sure we got to the start of the crossing and made it back! Couple of people live there long term who are really nice and love to chat. Would go back!

Haka Lodge Taupo features free unlimited WiFi and stunning views of Lake Taupo. It was awesome! thank you for making my stay so comfortable :) I will come back for sure!

Based by the Lake offers accommodation centrally located in Taupo, just minutes from the lake. Location was close to the lake, the food, the supermarket, everything. Amenities (kitchen and laundry) were clean and well thought out. Enjoyed the girls only dorm with the extra perk of a private balcony.
