The hostel has a garden and offers a sun terrace. Lawrelle, the Proprietress, and her family, we’re amazing!!! They treated all the guests as family and were very quick to resolve any minor issues that have arisen while I was there. the amazing family was good enough reason for me to go back next time around!!! Though the building is old, to me it’s beautiful - like all the old Victorian houses of it’s era, with the high ceiling, spacious living/dining room, a quiet nook, spacious kitchen, lots of bathrooms, and in my private & separate female dorm, we have our own bathroom, refrigerator & sets of wares & kettle!!! I like the private & detached female dorm - we all got along and most guests are on a 1-yr working holiday. Love it’s location - near the CBD and vineyards galore, since I love wines!!!! Everything is within walking distance, except most wineries, but one. Thanks a million Lawrelle and family for a wonderful stay!!!! I miss you all and all the other guests there I’ve come to know and see & interact everyday - the regulars.

Sequoia Lodge Backpackers is a 10-minute walk from the EcoWorld Aquarium and Edwin Fox Maritime Museum. Nice, cozy and quiet place. Well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds. Free shuttle from/to the ferry/Intercity bus station. Free breakfast. Great place to stay even longer than only for one night.
