Ian made sure to make your stay as good as possible and helped us where needed for the Tongariro crossing. He gave us walking sticks to use and made sure we got to the start of the crossing and made it back! Couple of people live there long term who are really nice and love to chat. Would go back!

We loved our stay at Tatahi Cove Back Packer! The hostel was lovely and our private room nice and clean, with a double bed. The shared bathrooms worked really well with other guests staying in the hostel and the shared spaces were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was really well kitted out with anything you could need, and we enjoyed the outside areas with lovely views of the gardens. It was a short walk from the beach and steps away from the brewery.

Haka Lodge Taupo features free unlimited WiFi and stunning views of Lake Taupo. Cleanest hostel we have stayed in, easy late check in, really fun layout, and centrally located.

Based by the Lake offers accommodation centrally located in Taupo, just minutes from the lake. Location was close to the lake, the food, the supermarket, everything. Amenities (kitchen and laundry) were clean and well thought out. Enjoyed the girls only dorm with the extra perk of a private balcony.

Waitomo Homestead Cabins features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Waitomo Caves. Offering a bar, the property is located within 9.1 km of Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. We didn't actually stay here as I had booked the wrong type of accommodation for us 3 older ladies. We needed 3 separate beds, an ensuite, and a small kitchen facility. The lovely lady at the desk however rang a motel in Otorohanga for us and booked us in there, which was much appreciated. So a big thanks to the lovely lady at the front desk.

Backpackers Central Hamilton offers accommodation in the centre of Hamilton, less than 5 minutes' walk from local shops, restaurants and cafes. Free WiFi and free lockers are provided. The space in room is really big, allowed for putting all of my stuff. Staff is also very kindly reply and leading perfectly. Public space is clean and tidy so as the lady’s room!
