Located in tranquil surroundings and offering air-conditioned, boutique accommodation for adults only, 8 on Oregon Boutique Lodge adjoins the Heritage Forest and Conical Hill Walkway. The view was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the birdlife visiting the beautiful gardens. Very pleasant and helpful hosts. Very clean room with some added touches to make the stay memorable. Loved all of the efforts the hosts are making to be considerate of the environment. Ample breakfast (fresh wild blackberries were amazing!) The garden gate opens onto the Conical Hill track - a lovely 30 min walk through forest on a wide, well maintained track.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge and it began the moment we arrived. The owners welcomed us warmly and, as we had cycled all day to get to it and did not realise that the store across the street (which is in fact not a store) would be closed, we had no food for the evening. Without a moment's hesitation the owners arranged a nice supper for us, including a salad picked fresh from their garden. We spent an interesting evening chatting with them as well as another couple of local New Zealanders staying at the lodge. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and there is a nice deck to sit out on. The location, right near the beach, is a perfect stop for cyclists on the way from Picton to Kaikoura, and we can highly recommend it!

Large well stocked kitchen that made it easy to prepare meals. The view was of both mountains & water. Location is great. Easy to walk both to Kaikoura & South Bay & other tracks. Our host was very responsive & kind. Should we ever find ourselves in Kaikoura again, we would definitely stay here again.
