Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. The staff provided exceptional guidance so that we could take stunning views of the mountains during sunset. Very high quality breakfast. Overall, exceeded my expectations in this rather remote/resource limited (to a city person at least) location.

Boasting river views, Beech Tree Lodge provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 24 km from Turoa. Unbeknown to the host our Whanau live directly across the road so to find this gem was perfect will definitely come back

Ruapehu Country Lodge is located within a 15-minute drive of Tongariro National Park, home of the world-renowned Tongariro Crossing. Free Wi-Fi access is available in this lodge. Breakfast was great - hand built to order with a lot of fresh and homemade ingredients. Sauna really helped after a day on the mountain. Grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Loved the sheep and alpacas.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. It was warm, clean, nice and cosy! The room was clean and pleasantly warm - much appreachated at that time! Shared space was very nice, well-organised. Always smiling lady gave us good advice what to see despite not very good weather-thank you :)

Set in the heart of National Park, Pipers Lodge boasts an onsite bar and restaurant. Guests can socialise in the shared lounge and warm up by the fireplace. Everything is Good and comfy the staff’s their are so friendly and they will assist you right away, they also have free breakfast and also hot coffee and chocolate

Offering a terrace and garden view, Tui Glen is set in Raurimu, 21 km from Taranaki Falls and 27 km from Whakapapa. Quiet Nice walk to river Cosy Close to Tongariro National Park

Alpine Chalets has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in National Park. Perfect location within the National Park, best view of the volcanos (weather dependent) and a very, very kind host.

Offering a barbecue and views of the mountain, Pukenui Lodge is situated in National Park in the Manawatu Region. Turangi is 41 km from the property. We had a great stay at Pukenui! The lodge is homely, has a great common space with a great kitchen and in a convenient location

Featuring amazing views of Mt Ruapehu, 2 hot tubs and a restaurant with a large deck area, Kings Ohakune is 2 minutes’ walk from Ohakune Station and 3 minutes' walk from the start of the Ohakune... Perfect location. Clean and tidy rooms. Nice and warm. The heater was already on for our arrival. Everything you need for a nice stay. Staff were so helpful and welcoming. Couldn't of asked for anything more!! The spa pools were fantastic!!

Featuring a guest lounge with a fireplace, Howard’s Lodge is located in National Park Village, less than 15 km away from Mount Ruapehu. Free WiFi is included. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. Well-stocked kitchens. Kind and helpful staff, who let me store luggage while I was out hiking.
