This was the highlight of my visit to Peru. I arrived on the Titicaca train in the early evening, and a driver had been organized to drive me to the local port, where I was escorted by Juan, an exceptional host in every sense of the word, to the island which he and his father had built. During my stay there, Juan invited me on mini tours around some of the islands, where I learned more about Uros culture and history. The Peruvian meals prepared by his wife Amalia were exceptional- always on time, delicious, substantial and inviting. I was never hungry. Juan ensured that my stay at Amalia was truly exceptional and something which I'll never forget- watching the starry nights from a comfortable and warm bed, enjoying the sounds of silence of the lake, being mesmerized by the sunsets, and learning more about the natural beauty and wildlife of the area. This was truly an amazing experience!

Titicaca Aruntawi Lodge Peru er staðsett í Puno og býður upp á gistirými með útsýni yfir vatnið og morgunverð daglega. Gististaðurinn er 7 km frá miðbænum og beint fyrir framan Titicaca-stöðuvatnið. We stayed one night at Titicaca Aruntswi Lodge and had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The room was exactly as shown in the photo, and we were provided with a gas heater and rustic electricity: not standard 220 VAC, but enough for lights and charging personal electronics via USB. Eddy and his parents are very kind, gentle people, and were wonderful hosts. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to a busy landing spot, where Eddy met us to take us via boat out to the lodge. The Uro community asks for a very modest S/. 5 per-person fee to help defray the impact of tourism. The floating island of the lodge was reasonably isolated and was surrounded at all times by an incredible diversity of waterfowl. We had three meals while there, from lunch to breakfast the next day, all of which were delicious. The view from the lodge out across the mountains, water channels, and the seemingly endless sea of reeds was spectacular and our stay, although brief, was one of the most memorable and worthwhile events of our time in Peru!

Uros Samarana Uta Lodge er staðsett í Puno og býður upp á sólarverönd og fjallaútsýni. Titicaca-vatn er 7 km frá gististaðnum. We stayed one night with Caesar and Lucy as part of our family trip. We were received with great hospitality, the rooms were comfortable and ample. The food is home cooked and delicious and even our children aged 8 to 13 liked it.

UROS TITICA LODGE Puno Peru er byggt á fljótandi eyjum Uros, í 30 mínútna siglingu undan strönd Puno, og býður upp á gistirými í hæstu tignarlega stöðuvatni í heimi. What a magical place! What Ivan and his family have built is truly amazing: from the comfortable rooms with bio toilets and hot water shower, the super nice sun (and star gazing) decks with hammocks and sunbeds, to the spacious lobby and dining area. On top of that, Ivan and his family are super nice and attentive hosts, and listening to their stories was a true highlight of our stay. Please be aware that they’re literally sharing their home and their resources with you. A home that requires a lot of maintenance and constant care, and resources that are definitely not as easy to acquire as the centralized electricity and drinkable tap water that some of us are accustomed to. That deserves immense respect and consideration. This island is quite far from the more touristy part of the Puno side of the Titicaca lake (about 15 mins by boat). This means that you’ll really get to experience how these communities live, as well as the silence and beautiful nature around you. However, this also means that you have to come very well prepared and dress accordingly, as the boat ride will be chilly - although blankets are provided on the boat to keep you warm - but also breathtakingly beautiful. I have never written such a long review and there’s really so much more I would like to say about this magicalw place but if there is one thing I’d like all future visitors of Uros Titicaca Lodge to know is this: this i s their home, and their way of life, which they hold dear above all else. So be kind. And dress properly ;)

Uros Summa Paqari er staðsett á eyjunni Uros, í Puno, 7 km fjarlægð frá Titicaca-stöðuvatninu. Puno-höfnin er í 5 km fjarlægð. Öll herbergin eru með sérbaðherbergi. the host is extremely good （Vidal）if you decided to stay in this hotel then you must attend the boat tour it’捏 absolutely perfect！！！

Uros Qhantany Lodge er staðsett 5 km frá ströndinni í Puno og er byggt á fljótandi eyjum Uros. Boðið er upp á gistirými miðsvæðis í Titicaca-vatni. Puno-ströndin er í 30 mínútna fjarlægð með bát. A very lovely location with lovely people. The food was good and the family that worked on the small island were very nice to us.

Sol del TITICA lodge er staðsett 5,9 km frá Estadio Enrique Torres Belon og býður upp á garð, verönd og loftkæld gistirými með svölum og ókeypis WiFi. Gistirýmið er með nuddbað. Everything was perfect, its the most relaxing magical spot ever. Cristain was great and helped us with everything. Thank you so much!

Uros Titicaca coila lodge býður upp á gistingu í Puno með ókeypis WiFi, borgarútsýni, garð, verönd og veitingastað. Smáhýsið er með loftkælingu og svalir. Everything. The location was incredible, but what I liked the most was the host- I felt like staying in a family and would have wished to stay longer. Us Pagara. :)
