Birches Cottage & the Willows Garden Room is situated on a gravel road, 5 km from the vilage of Underberg. The estate offers nature trails, riverside pools, picnic spots, decks and viewing areas.

The self-catering One-Bedroom Cottage offer a fully equipped kitchenette while the Deluxe Room is fitted with a microwave and fridge. Both units have a private bathroom and a garden veranda. Lots of information provided before arrival and then when we got there.

Guests can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and nature reserves. A little piece of paradise, everything 5 star standard. Wouldn't change a thing. Tranquility at its best! Rooms clean, food superb, and staff friendly. Beautiful hikes, horse riding, fishing.... Loved the fact it was exclusive and not loads of people. Need to spend a week there next time!

Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a bar and is located 44 km from Bergville. Guests receive free Wi-Fi access, a children's playground and a swimming pool. There are bicycles available for guests to rent, and guests can relax in the garden. Montusi Lodge will always be among the most special places we have ever visited. The grounds are gorgeous and location stunning - remote, with birdsong, epic views towards the Drakensberg amphitheatre and spectacular skies. The food is superb with a daily changing menu and we looked forward to 4 course dinners each evening (and the wine list!). We stayed 5 nights and hiked every day. Before we got there, Dumisani was super helpful with pre-organising transfers to the Royal Natal National Park (about 25km) which has fabulous hiking. Shorter self-guided trails can also be done on the Montusi estate, right from the lodge. A really impressive operation for such a remote location and hosts Lindsey & Mick and their lovely team are to be congratulated. Thanks for making us so welcome and accommodating our thirst for the great outdoors!

Gowrie Farm Golf Lodge serves a breakfast buffet and a few restaurants serving a variety of local and international cuisines can be found within 7 km. Packed lunches are available upon request. The staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Particularly Ever and Patricia. The whole environment and ambiance were brilliant. The rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable. The small function we had for our friends was well organized and the food was of very high quality and presentation.

Located just 8.2 km from Monks Cowl Country Club, Ondini Guest House features accommodation in Winterton with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Featuring free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as cycling and tennis. Excellent Host and accommodation in a beautiful area. The location is perfect, a little off for a very peaceful atmosphere. The house is huge and offers everything necessary for a great stay.

Qambathi Mountain Lodge offers an outdoor pool. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. Woke up to horses and zebra’s grazing on the grass in front of the room which was magical. There were multiple indoor and outdoor areas to sit and read, chat or just take in the beautiful surroundings. The food is impeccable with the kitchen staff aware of coeliac requirements and went out of their way to have gluten free alternatives available. The staff were all very friendly and available if you needed them, but also not intrusive. Was a solo traveller and would go again when in the area.
