The Crown Inn Pooley Bridge has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Pooley Bridge. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The staff were so welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The Crown Inn, is well located and is very charming. An excellent combination of traditional with a modern twist. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast. We stayed in room 17 which was on the top floor and had beautiful views of the lake. All in all, our stay was everything we could have wished for and we will definitely be back.

A Regency house overlooking Ullswater, the Macdonald Leeming House has an award-winning restaurant and views of the Cumbrian Fells. It is a 15-minute drive from the M6 motorway. The Hotel location over the lake with lots of wonderful views. Quite area away from the busy town.

I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time here in Glenridding.

Barton Hall has loads of character. Breakfast was excellent. Nice little discovery, will definitely be back!

Located within UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Lake District National Park, Waterfoot Park provides accommodation with complimentary WiFi is available in some properties. Everything was fantastic. I have stayed in hotels across the world that are not near as good as here. I will be back.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Lowthwaite B&B is a bed and breakfast situated in a historic building in Watermillock, 13 km from Askham Hall. We had a wonderful stay. The whole place is quite romantic and relaxed. Decoration is very good and has a bit of history, that the host will tell you about. The bedroom has a bathroom (with a big bathtub) and another one with just a toilet, a small living room with TV and sofas, and a room with two twin bed, that they kindly displayed together since we were a couple. Toiletries, towels and bathrobes were provided and good quality. Everything was quite clean. The place is very quiet, no noise whatsoever and quite close to Ullswater. The hosts were amazing, giving us plenty of suggestions of what to do around the area, they respect your privacy while being completely available. You have a place to park easily, and the hosts gave accurate directions. Honestly my favourite part was the breakfast which was excellent!! Probably the best breakfast I ever had on a hotel/BB! Everything was very fresh and made with excellent ingredients - you have a time slot and let them know what you want in advance (you have several options) and they will cook in for that time, so everything is fresh and warm. We were very glad we chose this place and would definitely stay again.

Located in Patterdale and only 22 km from Askham Hall, Crookabeck B&B provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Our hosts were simply fantastic! They made sure that we felt really good throughout the whole stay. On top of that the breakfast was plenty. The location was absolutely fabulous with a royal view from the room. If the purpose of the journey is to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the best spot to choose as opposed to staying in a hotel. Everything was perfect! I would definitely visit again!
