Located on a lake,within a forest. Hot tubs next to the lake with sunset views. Very good service,breakfast and dinner.

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. Everything was good. Room was clean and spacious. Very tasty breakfast, compared to other places there were also warm options, which is rather not standard in Iceland. Very nice breakfast staff. We liked the bar where you can buy some beer or wine. The hotel is situated in a nice spot by the lake, but also not far from everything. The bathroom is equipped with organic hair and body cleansing cosmetics of the very good Icelandic brand Sóley Organics, which we like very much. There is also a restaurant in the facility, unfortunately we spent whole days on our trips, so in none of the two days we were able to try their specialties, but maybe next time we will do it. There is also a spa, but here is the same as for the restaurant, we cannot comment, our plan was very tight. However, there is such an option.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Awesome place. Nice restaurant, good location visiting the east coast. We got a small cottage with kitchenette. Beautiful place.

We happened to be in a storm when we arrived, and the staff were very nice and instructed clearly about our room, and where to eat, and was very helpful. The room was inside a historical building just next to the blue church! The room was just as shown on booking.com, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast at the local gas station is strongly advised!!!!!

A very nice town in East Iceland. There are walking trails that afford nice views over the town and fjord. There is a nice place for coffee and cake in the Kaupvangur building. It seemed that the only restaurant in town is at the Hótel Tangi.

Vopnafjordur is a great stop for some relaxation and hiking. The townspeople are lovely with a great sense of humour and the restaurant in Kaupvegur is a nice little spot to grab a bite and an excellent coffee. Best latte I had in east Iceland!

The hostess was very kind!
The hostess was very kind! She was warm to my children and provided a basket of play toys for my son. We stayed in one of the newer cottages with a lovely loft and just the right amount of overall room for a family of four. We wish we could have spent more time sitting and drinking on the patio area in East Iceland.

The kitchen was very good and they provided plates/pans etc... The room was also very clean. The price is very reasonable of what they offer! It is located a few minutes again from the city - you just cross a bridge! It is a perfect stop if you are planning to visit East Iceland - which is the most beautiful area in Iceland! We had a very good stay there! Well done to the owners!
