Had a wonderful stay with the 'Cousins', amazing welcome before being shown into 'Aunt Grace's' room, decorated beautifully with her lovely pearls and jewelry. Very comfortable bed, lovely toiletries and facilities. Good breakfast, plenty of choice and super service. The hosts were very helpful and provided a full history of the wonderful building and it's restoration to the stunning standard it is now. Our stay was made incredible by the Andre Rieu Christmas concert which made a bucket list dream come true.

I had a late arrival at the Jaegershoes and informed the host about that. Very friendly cooperation to accommodate my request and helpful by preparing the breakfast, earlier than usual. The beds were great too and the room was very clean. This was more than I expected and everything I could have wished!

Bellissima città Sittard (Zitterd)
Sittard (oppure Zitterd in dialetto locale) è una piccola cittadina nella parte meridionale e più stretta dei Paesi Bassi (non Olanda, perché l'Olanda sarebbero soltanto due province situate nella parte più occidentale dei Paesi Bassi). Sittard si trova attaccata al confine con la Germania ad est e per arrivare in Belgio (Maasmechelen) ci vogliono circa 8km in direzione ovest. Sittard fa parte della provincia del Limburgo. A poco più di 20km a sud si trova la capitale della provincia del Limburgo che ormai è famosa in tutta Europa e si chiama Maastricht. A metà tra Sittard e Maastricht si trova il piccolo l'aeroporto di Maastricht/Aken, servito soprattutto da compagnie low cost quali Transavia, EasyJet e Ryanair. Sittard è una città viva con tante attività che si svolgono soprattutto nel centro storico quali il Carnevale (famoso in tutto il paese), il mercato di San Giuseppe (19 marzo) che è il più grande mercato del paese e da qualche anno si organizza anche l'Oktoberfeest, che anche questa in pochi anni e per merito dell'ottima organizzazione è diventato la festa della birra più grande del paese. Il centro storico ha mantenuto ancora gran parte del suo fascino con una parte importante dei suoi vecchi bastioni conservati e restaurati, la chiesa di San Pietro o comunemente chiamata la chiesa Grande è il perno del centro storico. La sua torre (ma non è l'originale che era molto più bella ma è bruciata e crollata nel 1857) è visibile e riconoscibile da lontano. La piazza centrale o anche nota come Piazza del Mercato è il salotto e il cuore pulsante notturno della città piena di locali e bar (chiamati café) dove si può sia mangiare ma soprattutto gustare la buonissima birra.
