Situated on Madalena, Pico Island, Caravelas is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on 3 sides and overlooks Faial Island. It features an outdoor pool, a 24-hour reception, and car rental. We had a nice and comfortable room with a little basket of fruits for your welcome. The room had a nice balcony with a view to the harbour and Faial. In a minute you can reach the harbour and the city centre. There is a cleaning service everyday (if you need it). The breakfast buffet is really big and has a lot of offerings (they even had soy milk and milk without lactose; lots of bread, ham, cheese, cereals with different seeds, lots of fruits, many cakes, eggs, beans and so on...). The staff is very polite. We are not used to big hotels and normally stay at smaller/simpler places so we missed nothing at all.

Loving Strangers Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Madalena. The accommodation provides karaoke and a shared kitchen. The hostel is very spacious, clean and well equipped. I felt very comfortable the days I stayed there. The nice atmosphere makes it easy to get in touch with people. Stefan's and Pedro's attention was magnificent, very kind and helpful. Beautiful modern design property, nice area with wonderful views, great breakfast with local products, fantastic dinner (to be booked well in advance)! Also loved the « wine cellar » in the room.

A nice, clean, good looking, well organised and equipped place in the centre of Madalena for shorter stays. Big bed and a relatively big bathroom. Close to the most important parts of the city.

The gardens are lush, the rooms were full of lovely touches and our daughter really enjoyed her time in the pool. The owners are so friendly and have thought of everything they can to make your holiday go well. We had fabulous food at their communal dinners, with the bonus of interesting company.

Fantastic place, equipped with absolutely everything. Clean and cosy with a fully equipped kitchen and a large bathroom available. Easy to get here even with the local bus and there's parking available as well. Excellent place for starting a hike. I definitely recommend to stay here.
