The Mango Guest House ligt in Aswan, op 700 m van de christelijke kathedraal van Aswan en op 1 km van de El-Tabia-moskee. Het pension heeft een barbecue, een zonneterras en een eigen restaurant. De guesthouse ligt op een heel rustig eiland, maar je kan heel gemakkelijk voor 5Egp overgezet worden naar de andere kant. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en heeft voor ons vervoer naar abu simbel en luxor geregeld. Ze dringen dit niet op. Je moet er zelf naar vragen wat ik heel fijn vond. Voor het ontbijt betaal je 75 egp. Voor het eerst in Egypte kregen we broodjes ipv egyptisch brood. Wat fruit, een omelet en vijgenconfituur. Het heeft ons erg gesmaakt. Wil je wat broodjes bij... gewoon vragen. Bij aankomst op de luchthaven was ons vliegtuig 2 uren vertraagd. We kwamen pas rond middernacht aan. Via WhatsApp kon ik dit doorgeven en ik werd onmiddellijk gerust gesteld. De chauffeur stond ons op te wachten. Hij zette ons op de juiste boot naar de overkant waar iemand van Mango ons stond op te wachten om te helpen met onze bagage. Heel fijn dat we in het donker niet alleen moesten zoeken. Kamers waren eenvoudig maar goed met een supergezellig tuintje. Leuk ook dat je koffie en thee kan nemen zoveel je wilt. Frisdranken en water zitten in de koelkast. Je neemt hiervan wat je wil en zet gewoon een streepje. We zijn bij King Jamaica en Nubian kingdom gaan eten. Beiden waren lekker. Gezellig zitte ´s avonds met zicht op de nijl.

Arafa Nubian Guest house heeft een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, een restaurant en een bar in Aswan. The location is in a tranquil nubian village on the west side of the Nile. If you're with the car, you easily exit on a highway towards the Aswan Dam of Abu Simbel. The courtyard is a traditional one, the room was big, clean and with a good wi-fi. The host was careful and the surroundings looked safe. We also parked the car at the gate front and it was ok. The breakfast was tasteful and we served it outside in the courtyard. On the evenings, the lights from the courtyard make a warm and nice atmosphere. A good value for money!

We stayed here for one night - super location overlooking Lake Nasser - 5 minutes drive from Abu Simbel. The hotel is very impressive set in its own private grounds and with a great pool area. The room was very spacious and tastefully furnished. Cool balcony with a view of the Lake. On checking in, we were upgraded to have breakfast included - this was great as it cost around $30 each. The breakfast buffet had a great variety to suit all tastes. Would definitely stay again if we could afford to!

Obelisk Nile Hotel Aswan Resort is located on the Nile Corniche, just 5 minutes' drive from the centre of Aswan. All rooms have a garden view. As you enter, up the stairs and start to walk, you just catch the most Amazing view of the Nile. Great move by the hotel as this steers your mood in the right direction immediately. The location of this hotel is Exquisite, the layout and styling is fantastic, somewhat of a "villa" kind of feel. At reception, the welcome and smiles are just so refreshing. This is the beginning as every interaction with the staff (especially those amazing gentlemen and chefs at breakfast) thereafter leaves you feeling so happy. The staff are sublime, polite, friendly, efficient and ever willing to just spoil every guest. The rooms are great, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and the shower was nice. We used to wait for breakfast, literally sitting on the edge of the Nile, that's special and quite a thrill. The breakfast was amazing with a generous spread and delicious meals served with oodles of love. The main street adjoining the hotel is an adventure and we were happily exploring till late hours, it's a great vibe and really pleasant experience. This is a great value for money hotel, you get far more value than what you pay for. We loved the experience and will be back if we can.
