Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaIt would be helpful to express our disappointment regarding an important aspect of our stay. During our stay, we celebrated a significant family milestone—a birthday. Upon our arrival, we communicated with the receptionist and informed them that our visit to Lyon was specifically to celebrate this occasion. Despite this, there was no acknowledgment or effort from your staff to make this day special in any way. We had expected at least a small gesture, such as a congratulatory note or a simple acknowledgment from your team, which would have significantly enhanced our experience. The lack of any recognition was quite disheartening and left us feeling undervalued as guests. A birthday celebration is a meaningful event, and we chose Hotel Dieu with the expectation that your reputed hospitality would contribute positively to this special day. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider implementing measures to ensure future guests celebrating special occasions feel recognized and valued.
Our recent stay at the InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu was nothing short of exceptional. This hotel perfectly combines historic charm with modern luxury, making it a standout choice for any traveler visiting Lyon. Location: The hotel's location is unbeatable. Situated on the banks of the Rhône River, it's just a short walk to Lyon's historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The proximity to key attractions, shopping areas, and dining establishments makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. Service: The service at Hotel Dieu is exemplary. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and eager to assist with any request. The concierge team provided excellent recommendations and were instrumental in making our stay memorable. Every interaction reflected a commitment to guest satisfaction, which truly enhanced our experience. Interior: The interior of the hotel is breathtaking. The blend of contemporary design with the building's historic architecture is stunning. The spacious rooms are elegantly decorated, offering a perfect mix of comfort and style. The lobby and common areas are beautifully appointed, providing a sense of grandeur and sophistication. Historic Significance: Staying at Hotel Dieu is like stepping back in time. The building itself is a historic landmark, dating back to the 12th century. Its rich history as a hospital for the needy adds a layer of depth to your stay. The careful restoration has preserved its historical essence while incorporating modern amenities. Exploring the hotel's corridors and courtyards, you can feel the centuries of history embedded in its walls. Overall, Hotel Dieu offers an unparalleled experience that beautifully merges historic charm with modern luxury. Whether you're in Lyon for business or leisure, this hotel promises an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!

Australia2 story luxury river view suite didn't work as well as it could have as there was no water for the kettle/coffee machine in the lounge where it was located so you had to go downstairs to fill up the kettle or take the kettle etc downstairs and the chromecast connects to the downstairs TV only which effectively made the upstairs TV and lounge area pointless and you do need to be streaming something as there is only 1 english language station available which is BBC world news. Going up and down the stairs was a bit of a pain on a few night stay. We would have preferred a single story river view room in hindsight.
Amazing restored heritage building Modern luxury rooms Buffet breakfast is fantastic Views of the river supurb Top location for exploring the historical district Short cab ride to the Halles de Lyon - Paul Bocuse Only 10 minutes in a cab to the trains for regional exploring - Annecy day trip highly recommended Le Dome bar is a visual spectacular

United Arab EmiratesNothing I would like to thank Miss Agathe for changing the room for us.
Fast check in once Miss Agathe knew that I had allergies, she changed the room immediately. I really liked the location it is near the city attractions. The modern design with this kind of historical building was a nice experience.
