I contacted the hotel in advance to advise we would be arriving around 11pm (the reception closes at 9 I believe) and my understanding was that someone would wait for us. Unfortunately, we got there just after 11, the gate was shut, no obvious way to get to the main entrance. Phoned the entry phone but the gate (which had a note it was to use for emergencies only, in French) and was told the hotel was closed. Only after I explained I let the hotel know of the late arrival, my name was checked and the entry code was provided. It was a little odd that my room was left wide open. Also, the Internet did not work (it did not recognize my name, which was needed to access the WiFi); this was only sorted in the morning, just before we checked out.We got rubbish bins right outside of our window, so not too cool. Despite of the hotel being quite modern, I think it is overpriced.

The hotel is modern inside, it was also very clean. There was a kettle and some coffee sticks/sugar & a biscuit to use.

The staff went above and beyond. I had my disabled daughter with us and there were issues with taxi to the airport. The staff were so helpful. Breakfast was amazing.

Was not told that secure parking was at extra cost until after I had already booked, when I arrived found there was a few spaces that where free but not secure.

The rooms were spotless and the communal areas were very nice. Staff were lovely. A short walk to the town. Close enough not to drive and I would say don't drive as town is heavily pedestrianised. Pika (sorry if I spelt your name incorrectly!) was very nice

Parking space was bit restricted. We had a campervan and were advised we could have 2 parking spaces, but getting out was difficult due to workmens vans blocking the exit.

Open spacious well designed communal areas. Our room was very comfortable, nice design. Breakfast ticked all the boxes.

We didn’t give a 10 because on the morning we were departing there was lots of drilling inside the hotel. It’s a shame we weren’t told this was happening when we checked in so we could have been prepared. The loud drilling noise was a shock!

Really lovely clean room on the ground floor with patio doors. Shower was great and tv had satellite channels and Netflix. Location was brilliant to be able to walk to all the main sights in La Rochelle.

The staff are exceptional. So helpful, warm and welcoming. This was our second stay in the Kyriad this year, we were there during the world cup and enjoyed La Rochelle so much returned for the la Rochelle v Leinster match. On both occasions we also booked breakfast, definitely enough variety and plenty of everything we wanted provided. We will return again hopefully. Great place to stay. Thank you to the staff, really appreciated the assistance they gave us.
