How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We’re nitpicking here, there could have been more places to hang clothes in the shower area. That’s all we could think of.
Literally one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Very friendly staff, sizeable room, beautiful shower, location that is quiet but still close to the action.

AC shut off in middle of night. We usually opt to sleep with no AC and open windows, But mosquitoes came in, so we were forced to sleep in warmer than we like , stuffy room for 3 night stay. We fussed with thermostat when we woke up hot at 1AM .. no luck. . AC worked fine during day so I think owner didn’t believe us.
Sweet boutique hotel. Tastefully furnished. Spacious room with kitchenette. Nice neighborhood outside of tourist chaos. 10 min walk from waterfront restaurants. Easy onsite Parking !!

While it was about a 15 minute walk from the center of Chora Naxos, we didn’t mind this as it made for a great distance for after dinner walks. Really, there was nothing we didn’t like about this property.
Everything! First, the owner and her hostess Christina were amazingly helpful and very kind. At one point they even brought us a gift basket of local wine, fruits, and cheeses. Their rooms were immaculate, well decorated, a good size, and had everything you need. It was wonderful having access to the hot tubs to and evening under the stars as well. Would stay here again if we returned to Naxos!

This is a beautiful property. The staff at the reception desk are very friendly and personable, making you feel instantly that you have arrived somewhere really nice. It’s very modern in design, and spotlessly clean. There isn’t a single feature that has been overlooked in making your stay as comfortable as possible. My suite was lovely - a large comfortable bed, nice sofa, perfect small kitchen, excellent bathroom, balcony, clothes drier, ironing table and iron, great soft towels, good toiletries and for me, had two additional features which I loved - beach towels and a Nespresso machine! I had a lovely stay.

Location is in a quiet part of the old town. Near several supermarkets and only 8 minutes walk to the nearest beach. I loved the room: Big private terrace, incredible hammam-style bathroom, big comfy bed and sofa, two TV's, very fast WiFi with streaming services, well-stocked kitchen, luxury toiletries, daily housekeeping, not to mention the private hot tub, sunbeds and shower on the roof. The building design is modernist and in the Cycladic style. The staff, including the owner were absolutely lovely and so helpful before and during my stay. They gave me so many excellent recommendations. Thank you Makava Suites.

The family suite was just perfect. Very spacious, on two levels (each one having its own double bed and bathrouom) and fridge. It has cooking facilities, a coffee maker, a toaster, a kettle. Toiletries are high quality, there are also slippers and bathrobes, as well as beach towels (which comes handy). There is a stylish private patio where one can sit and relax. I cannot say enough about the staff. The friendliest and most helpful people we could have. They made us feel welcome and at home. Child-friendly. The suites are within ten minute walk from the closest beach (St George's). Bus stops are within a few minute walk for those who do not want to use a car.

The design is lovely, very well thought. The rooms are big and spacious. It’s only few min walk to central. The bus is around the corner and only 15 min with the bus to the best beaches. Great value , one of the best places I stayed in Greece and we stayed in 5 different places in 2 weeks of holiday . The girl at reception was very welcoming and took her time in explaining how to get around and recommend places .

A gorgeous place to stay. Very modern and brand new rooms. Felt like we were staying in luxury for such a reasonable price! Beds were super comfortable and bathroom was very high spec. Great location too!

Everything about this property was perfect, it’s close to the port, old town and the temple of apollos. The rooftop jacuzzi for our room was also a great addition.
