Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomChair - should be reupholstered - this would just take a small piece of fabric, a nail gun and about 15 mins. I see the cushion matches the curtains but it's old and old fashioned so hopefully that will be upgraded in time. Bathroom was clean, good size, walk in shower. Everything good except shower doors which were old (even cracked) so changing to a modern clear one would make a much more modern impression for not too much investment. Although it was quiet where I was located , in the morning people rolling their suitcases and doors closing was unavoidable for a tarditional building of this age. Perhaps a rug would help but that could be a trip hazard or more work for cleaners. I couldn't hear people in other rooms except for the sistern . Delicious crossiant at breakfast - this is not a complaint but as it was a full sized one (a surprise for a hotel) I ate it all;, a smaller one would have prevented my greediness and not having space to try one of their other scrumptous caskes! Again not a complaint!
The entrance is much nicer than the photos suggest so gives a good elegant impression. It's not a bland hotel interior. Room good - light colours and it was next to the internal court yard so it was quiet at night. Bed firm (in a good way) which made for a great sleep. A single bed so not a massive room but I was a solo traveller for one night and the bathroom was a good size. Thankfully the old style bed spread seen in the photos was not on my bed. This is much more modern (and frankly much cleaner because who knows who has sat naked or worse on them as I can't imagine they would be dry cleaned every time. Breakfast good - I wasn't hungry for hours. Scrambled eggs tasted particulary good to me. Location - if you are able bodied, it's just a enjoyable 10 min walk from station (close for shuttle when arrive.) The bridge to the other side where the Tower is located is pretty close too. I prefered being away from the touristy bit to get away from crowds - and there were nice restaurants near by if you walk around close by.

RomaniaThe walls are relatively thin. One can hear the noise from the hallway. During the day it is hard to stay with the window open, there is noise from the street. But: during the night it was very quiet. The internet connection was slow.
The staff is extremely professional and helpful. The location is great. There is a terrace outside. Proper window blinds, quiet during the night. Very good value for money.

United StatesWe liked everything about the hotel.
The hotel was really nice. It was clean, comfortable and provided toiletries. It's also near several restaurants and we really enjoyed Tora Tora for dinner. We stayed in a quadruple room, but it actually had room for 5 people (3 twin beds and 1 queen). Breakfast was included and had a great assortment of options, including gluten-free bread.

United KingdomFor some reason the walls were not very soundproof and we could hear the person in the next room snoring
We had a great stay - the hotel exceeded our expextations 1. Great location in a quiet area and an easy walk to main sites 2. Staff helpful and gave good service 3. Clean room with good room facilities 4. Breakfast choice good, plentiful and good quality 5. Nice touch to have a shuttle minibus service to the airport at only 5 euros a person

United KingdomNo, I would go back there again
An excellent location - the reason I chose it; half way between the Leaning Tower and the Railway station. Good bed, wonderful bathroom and shower, generous breakfast, with a proper cappuccino made by cheerful and helpful staff. There is lots to see in Pisa other than the Tower (the Duomo museum is well worth the visit), all within walking distance. By train one can go to Lucca 30 mins (see below, however) and Florence (choose the right train, 1h-1h10 mins). From Pisa airport the Pisamover gets you to the train station (6 euro 50 each, however, so for a group/family, probably cheaper by taxi.) For Lucca, you might consider the bus because the tourist office in Lucca is near the bus station, not the train station.

United StatesLike many older hotels in Europe, the shower is very tight and difficult to shower in.

RomaniaProbably like most of the hotels in historic places, it could use some refurbishment. The beds in our double room had slightly uncomfortable mattresses, the shower was leaking towards the sink, there were some corners which needed some repairs and the breakfast was decent, but not great. Because it's an old building, you can also hear everything from the corridors and the outside area.
The hotel is very convenient if you want to be close to the city center. It takes about 15 minutes walking to get to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Dome and the major areas; it's also very close to the bank of the river, so one can take morning or evenings strolls and enjoy the scenery. The rooms are decent size (we had a double and a single), the bathrooms are also clean and pretty spacious. It's a good option if you are staying for 1- 2 nights. It also has parking for guests (very small, but the receptionist helps move the cars around to make space for cars to go in and out).

MaltaMost channels on the tv would not emit a clear picture and there is no conditioner. Don't wash your hair as dryer is close to useless. Went out with hair wet.
The staff is great. The hotel is old but might be an issue with Pisa itself as even restaurant look old and tired.

Great location. Staff were amazing, particularly the young guy at the bar and dining area.He literally never stopped- a credit to the hotel. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, comfortable room, great choice at breakfast, couldn’t fault anything. Only stayed the night before my flight home, but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and would recommend to others.
