How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The only thing we regret is not booking at a Toyoko Inn at other cities.
The location was perfect. Nice and close to Dotonbori and Amerikamura for shopping. The staff were all so friendly always greeting us when entering the lobby. They have laundry facilities, a vending machine and a water cooler to refill your water bottle. And to top it off, breakfast was free and delicious! If you can, try and stay at a Toyoko Inn during your stay in Japan.

Breakfast was great. Location is really convenient. Just a short walk to Namba station. The environment is really clean and well maintained. Coin laundry service was a bonus. Easy to find food around the place.

the cleaning of room is done only once every 3 days, but given the price its reasonable.
near all the food and shopping at namba walk and dotonbori. near major transport node.

No microwave in the room.
It was good location, room is very clean, and breakfast has good options. Also, u can leave your luggages at the basement with no extra cost.

The hotel is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful, there is a dedicated area for storing the luggage, which is free and easy to use. The breakfast was nice, despite many guests there was always enough food and the tables were clean. Don't expect anything fancy, but if you are looking for a good stay next to the Dotonbori street - think no more and book!

Great location in the heart of Namba. 1 min away from the subway station. Breakfast buffet was included.

Everything is clean and you have all it takes for a couple of night. Room size was more than OK and the subway entry is 1 minute away from the hotel exit. Lot and lot of options for shopping or eating in the hotel area.

We stayed for about 7 nights...it would have been better if there is more variety for breakfast menu. Nevertheless, food was great. The variety is just a minor feedback. We will come back again : )

There are subway noises and it is not as spotless as other Japanese hotels that we stayed in. relatively expensive without cleaning service considering the quality of the included breakfasts.

Staff (front, man) with glasses was not so nice. We just visited this hotel first time and don't know process of self- check in. We tried to do and wanted his help. When we still not understood what system ask about accompany. He try to explain but not clear for us. He show dissatisfaction and no other staffs help. They just look us and ignore. Let us with this staff. Not impressed this staff (man with glassses) very much. That is why we didn't rate this hotel previously. Other things of this hotel (facility, foods etc.) are very good.

I accidentally booked smoking room and would like to change it to non smoking one but they said the hotel is full booked. My bad on having a wrong booking though. So yeah it smells bad in the room so we just opened the window the whole time we stay.
Location! It's close to Namba metro station exit 24 which have escalators so it's convenient with luggages. It's close to elevator exit too but when we're there it's in construction. The complimentary breakfast is ok, have a lot of variation though and it changes the next day we stay.

So far I have nothing to complain about the hotel.
Big lobby and quiet. Not crowded at all. The hotel provide the facial kit which I use everyday and it's a good product. Love the fact that the hotel provide pajama every night. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Osaka.

Pajama is badly designed, the bed is hard, the pillow is not fluffy & the toilet is small
They change your towels & pajamas everyday. The staff are friendly, the location ia near to Metro subway & Dotonbori, there's a lot of free luggage lockers at the basement we can use and the price is bery reasonable since it's also including a breakfast

For 7 days of staying there, you can get bored with the breakfast menu
