Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIf you're looking for personalised service this is not for you. Staff were helpful but it's a clinical & automated environment.
Location couldn't be better, only minutes from Namba station, Dotonbori & short walk to Kuromon markets. Comfortable, clean, free luggage lockers, very good buffet breakfast.

Stayed in a smoking room and thank goodness the stench wasn’t always around like some other hotels. Not a smoker here. The room has a refreshing spray so you can kinda spray the smoke away LOL but truthfully depends on whether your neighbours are chain smokers. Luckily mine only smoked once a day so the smell didn’t come! Friendly staff and they allow you to borrow umbrellas on rainy days :)

TurkeyPerhaps cause I arrived on a public holiday, the staff were incredibly strict on check-in time of 4pm. But my companion who came the next day could check in slightly earlier around 3pm.
Helpful and friendly staff. Convenient location.

Great location. Nearest exit is B6 but has stairs, while exit 24 has an escalator (walk 30 seconds and u are there!). If taking the nankai train, take the north exit and walk on the main road to get to the hotel as it is much faster. Breakfast looks like not much but it’s actually amazing with great variety. The ‘main dishes’ varied slightly each day, but staples like onigiri and bread don’t change!

RomaniaNewly opened Toyoko-Inn in Namba, close to the railway station and to the shopping / nightlife streets. Provides good basic accommodation. There is a large breakfast hall providing simple but tasty Japanese-style breakfast. Has practical amenities like laundromats, lockers to keep luggage before check-in / after checkout, free wifi + power outlets in the lobby.

PhilippinesIt is kind of slippery on the ice maker area as some people would dispense more ice cubes than their paper cups can handle. Excess ice cubes tended to fall on the tiled flooring that created a puddle. My 11-year old kid slipped on it one night and badly hurt his knee. The staff hurried and wiped the puddle when they saw us and were very kind to ask if they could also wipe dry my son's shoes. I politely declined and said that it is fine. Maybe you can put some carpeting on some areas in the lobby for added safety. Also, in our 6 nights stay, we only had the chance to experience the complimentary breakfast once because the breakfast is from 6.30-9am only. Coffee flows until 10am though. Maybe you can extend the breakfast hours?
Location is excellent. I like the quick, no human touch check-in process. I like that there is a microwave to heat our food, ice maker, and water dispenser. There are vending machines for water, iced tea, coffee and beer. The lobby is wide and open. I am able to work, do a video call with privacy even in the lobby. There is even a printer free to use. There is also a laundromat though you have to pay 30Yen for the laundry powder, 200Yen for a 31-min full load wash, and 100Yen for a 11-min dryer, which you can top up to fully dry your clothes. But all equipment are new so the experience overall is great!

ThailandI had a very bad experience with one hotel front desk. He had bad manner to customer. May be only individual problem as I had no bad experience with other hotel staffs. This conflict came from his written correspondence. The way he presented not a good customer mind because he wanted to be right at all time. This hotel should provide more language training to staffs, especially in "ENGLISH". From this experience, Tokoyo Inn will be my last choice to stay in Japan.
Breaksfat was okay.
