It is close the train station. The room is big and cozy. The owner is friendly and nice. In the morning of check out day I saw a small note on the wall that guest can try kimono for free in the everning. I stayed there for 3 nights but i overlooked that note. I missed a chance to try kimono. It was rain when I checked out. So the owner suggested driving me to the train station. I felt so warm in a rainy day. I also received a souvenir gift from the hostel. I love it so much.

The sauna and bath are great. The futon is great. The breakfast starts at 7am but I check-out early at 630am because the bus from Takasagodai-8-chome departs at 7.11am. They allow early breakfast anyway. The breakfast was delicious. The staff did not understand English but very quick thinking to use Google translate - no major issue.

The ryokan was spotless and well located, and it was so nice to stay in a traditional Japanese house, with a traditional bathroom (with a bath to relax in), a yukata to put on after showering, and a delicious Japanese breakfast! (There are also signs in the ryokan saying that you can try on a kimono for free). The staff were extremely welcoming and made me feel at home. I’m sad I was only here one night but I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Asahikawa!AnnaSolo traveller

They have a DDR machine (note the opening hours though) and a manga shelf (which is cool even if we couldn't read Japanese). The futon and chairs are comfortable and the rooms are gorgeous. The onsen has some unique baths, and an outdoor pool area looking out to the city. The staff are very nice, note also they only speak Japanese, and I got the impression this is a stay frequented more by locals than tourists.

By "traditional" I mean you will sleep on a futon on a tatami mat floor and there are no chairs anywhere (floor cushions instead). It's great.

A genuine ryokan experience.
