Our family had unforgettable and wonderful moments at this Ryokan. Comfortable rooms, good Japanese bath facilities and a very special breakfast. It was the most attentive and friendly staff of our entire stay in Japan. Here we understood what Omotenashi is. Thanks a lot Iroriyado Hidaya.

Toraya ligger i Gero, 48 km från Takayama station, och erbjuder utsikt över bergen. Denna ryokan med 3 stjärnor har luftkonditionerade rum med gratis WiFi och eget badrum. Super nice, clean and cosy hotel with supportive staffs. Location is a bit far from station but very close to central area.

This accommodation is 400 years old and managed by the 15th generation now. The history is very special. Even the formal emperor staid at this accommodation. You can really experience the authentic Japanese life. Food was delicious, the best food we had in Japan untill now. We hear that the chef build his cooking skills at a Michelin star restaurant and that is what you see and taste at the food. When we arrived we were (as both having back problems) worried about the traditions futon beds, but this was no problem at all! Nice to do from here is the Nakasendo walk from Magome to Tsumago. The hotel helped us with a useful map and arrange a transfer for us to the starting point.

Everything was beyond perfect. The Matsuko family are the most amazing hosts and provided an experience that will long live in our memories. The fact that it had snowed the night before added to the magic of this place. Takuya-san the father was a very jovial man with an incredible philosophy on life which he shared on our personal and entertaining tour of the village in his van. He then prepared the most amazing food we had on our Japan trip. I encourage anyone thinking of travelling to Shirakawa-go to stay here and support this incredible family.

Mozumo ligger i ett lugnt område i regionen Gifu, en 52-minuters bilresa från JR Takayama Station. Här erbjuds bad med varmt källvatten och rum med modern japansk inredning. Incredible service, food, location, ambience - everything was perfect and an absolute highlight of our 3 week Japan trip.

Juhachiro grundades 1860 och ligger vid floden Nagara. Här finns naturliga varma källor både inomhus och utomhus. Hotellet ligger 15 minuters bussresa från Gifus tågstation. The onsen included in our room was amazing!!!

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. It was absolutely like a dream! It is the closest you can get to staying with a local family. The hosts were incredible and lovely and took care of us and it honestly felt like coming home to visit family. It was in a beautiful location and every room of the property was spectacular, clean and incredible to be in. Massive thank you to our hosts for the incredible stay, we loved it.
