It was true, quaint and traditionally Japanese ryokan experience. Upon check in we were greeted with tea and sweets, as well as a full overview provided by our hosts. It was very informative and made us feel right at home! The location was also great - right next to many frequented bus stops

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Just beautiful. The temple is gorgeous and serene. We had the family room with a private bathroom which was clean and a good size for our family. The dinner was perfection and one of the best meals we had in Japan. We wish we had booked for longer.

My stay at this hotel in Koyasan, managed by monks, was an unforgettable experience. The monks' hospitality and guidance throughout our stay were exceptional. The private dining in a traditional Japanese setting was exquisite, and the onsen was a relaxing highlight. Participating in the morning prayer provided a unique spiritual connection. The monks' parting gift added a personal touch to our departure. If you seek a remarkable and culturally rich stay in Koyasan, I highly recommend this hotel.

Situated in Koyasan in the Wakayama region, 宿坊 光明院 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. Dinner had so many vegan dishes and they were delicious. Breakfast was smaller but still filling. It won't be a western breakfast. The futon ended up being comfy and warm but the halls were cold in the morning. I suggest arriving at the start of check in to take full advantage of everything there is (enjoying the pond, onsen, tea in room while reading the info on ceremonies). Location was great for the big 3 sites, if you don't mind walk 20 minutes in either direction.

清浄心院 is situated in Koyasan, 39 km from Kishi Station, 45 km from Matsushita Park, and 45 km from Itakiso Shrine. It is set 39 km from Tama Museum and features full-day security. The temple building was amazing- so old and beautiful. The staff was very friendly, but most of them spoke very little English. There was some confusion with getting dinner for the evening as it was not included in my reservation. So if you want breakfast or dinner, snd it is not included in your reservation, make sure to tell them you want it as soon as you check in. It was a wonderful experience to stay there! Make sure you go to the Fire ceremony, which was at 1 pm daily. It is free.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Cannot recommend Gion Kyoka enough. Actually, I'd prefer to give a negative review to prevent everyone from booking this lovely ryokan in the most amazing location in Gion Kyoto. Their team went above and beyond to make arrangements for our party at temples like Saiho-ji. Thank you Miyata-san and the rest of your staff for making our stay exceptional. I hope to visit again soon.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. 10/10 perfect 2 days here in shirahama :) the staff is so friendly and will help you with everything! they cant speak english but will still try to do the best they can. Google Translater will help a lot :-)
