El Biwako Hanakaido ofrece baños de aguas termales al aire libre y cubiertos, 3 sitios para comer y habitaciones con balcón y vistas al lago Biwako. It was our first onsen experience and it was superb! You have a very great view of the lake. Room is very spacious. It's our first time as well to stay at a traditional Japanese room, wear yukata and it was a great experience. Excellent dinner and breakfast. They can pick you up at the train station which is very convenient.

El Honmachi Juku ofrece alojamiento en Hikone y WiFi gratuita en todas las zonas. El establecimiento cuenta con un salón compartido. The host Natsuhara-san really went above and beyond for me, he is very kind. The cleaning ladies who come in the morning are also very kind and we did our best to communicate through the language barrier. Overall I had a great time! It's very close to Hikone Castle and in the historical town area so it's easy to see the attractions.

El Tobaya Ryokan está distribuido alrededor de un apacible jardín japonés y ofrece habitaciones tradicionales con aire acondicionado, TV de pantalla LCD y acceso a baños compartidos. E encantó las instalaciones. Ryokan hermoso, muy tradicional. El señor súper amable, no sé si no bre. Me llevó a la estación cuando salí. Gran detalle porque estaba lloviendo y está a 16 minutos de la estación. El baño impresionante. Me hubiese quedado más. Volveré si se da la oportunidad.

El Yumotokan Hotel dispone de habitaciones confortables de estilo japonés, con vistas al lago Biwa. Incredible diner and breakfast. Great onsen and room. Very helpful and kind staff. Loved it

El Ebisusou es un alojamiento de 2 estrellas situado en Takashima. Este ryokan de 2 estrellas ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado, baño compartido y wifi gratis. Very close to station, in a quiet village. We arrived there by our bike and was allowed to store our bike inside guest house in a storage place near entrance. Breakfast was delicious and full, traditional Japanese style. Though owner is quiet, he is helpful, answer email promptly. He gave me a paper box when I asked for my personal use. There is a kettle for boiling water, good for me as I like to drink hot water. There is a sink in balcony, so simple washing and brushing teeth can be done in room. A warm reminder to future guests: there are a few interestingly looking restaurants near by, but all need reservations before hand. We can't try. Do book.

Everything about our stay is perfect. This Ryokan is full of character. Great hospitality from the owner - they are very friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable and provided good dinner recommendations. Having an onsen in the ryokan is a huge bonus - this is probably the highlight of our stay. Authentic Japanese breakfast served. The location is near the train station making sites around Lake Biwa accessible. We're so glad we stayed here.

El Kiyotaki Ryokan, situado en Hikone, a 20 minutos a pie del castillo Hikone, tesoro nacional, ofrece alojamientos de estilo japonés, cocina casera japonesa y conexión wifi gratis. This was probably the best accommodation I had so far. It is true when they say - the further you go from the big cities, the more sympathetic and kind people you meet. I was very skeptical about my stay in the ryokan, as the pictures were not that promising and the price was quite low. As well as the city of Hikone is not that big (probably it is a small town area). But when I came in the evening after a full-day trip, I saw a very well made accommodation, exceptionally clean and a host, who met me with a very warm greeting! He showed me all of the facilities and we had a nice chat. I should admit - it is very important when you are coming late and plus to that you are alone. Later he offered me a dinner and I was more then amazed by how tasty and big it was for that price! I had 5 or more dishes (do not remember exactly as there were a lot), prepared on a beautiful tableware. I really felt like I was home. The lobby area was probably repaired - as it has nothing similar with the photos from the booking.com. Now it has a very clean and light colored design. It was visible from the first sight, that the host treats the hotel as if it was his own house, greeting everyone with open arms and heart. I would dream to meet such hosts in Kyoto, Osaka and other big cities. But so far, I met the best host in Hikone town. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the host-just found his name now.
