Il Biwako Hanakaido offre vasche termali coperte e all'aperto, 3 punti ristoro e camere con balcone e vista sul Lago Biwako. It was our first onsen experience and it was superb! You have a very great view of the lake. Room is very spacious. It's our first time as well to stay at a traditional Japanese room, wear yukata and it was a great experience. Excellent dinner and breakfast. They can pick you up at the train station which is very convenient.

Situated in Nagahama, in a historic building, 14 km from Hikone Castle, Hitoiki is a recently renovated ryokan with a garden and terrace. Prenotato quasi a caso in un viaggio itinerante, si è rivelato un posto magnifico. Nuovissimo, super spazioso. In un quartiere storico bellissimo che la mattina dopo abbiamo visitato con grande gioia. Silenzioso la notte e con un comodo parcheggio riservato nelle vicinanze.

Situato a Hikone, a meno di 1 km dal Castello di Hikone, l'Honmachi Juku offre sistemazioni con salotto in comune, un parcheggio privato gratuito e un giardino. Il ryokan dispone di camere familiari. The host Natsuhara-san really went above and beyond for me, he is very kind. The cleaning ladies who come in the morning are also very kind and we did our best to communicate through the language barrier. Overall I had a great time! It's very close to Hikone Castle and in the historical town area so it's easy to see the attractions.

Immerso in un tranquillo giardino giapponese, a 20 minuti a piedi dal Castello di Hikone, il Tobaya Ryokan offre un parcheggio gratuito e camere tradizionali con aria condizionata, TV LCD e bagno in... Gorgeous spacious room, very traditional with an onsen. Staff really friendly and dropped us to the station, very accommodating. Garden was lovely and very calming. I'd book a family room if possible as it's much bigger and large sliding doors.

Absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. Excellent pick up service from the JR station, amazing facility with diverse hot spring settings, beautiful family room with view of Lake Biwa. Food was also amazing! All in all a fantastic experience.

L'Ebisusou è una struttura a 2 stelle situata a Takashima. Questo ryokan a 2 stelle dispone di camere climatizzate con bagno in comune e connessione Wi-Fi gratuita. The place is a little bit odd yes, but it’s a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese hospitality (even if the building doesn’t look traditional… but 70s) the hot bath was one of the best I ever had in Japan and the food was incredible. And I paid only 8250 yen for a half course stay (1 person). And the owner did his best to explain everything (with a digital language translator).

Ubicato a Hikone, a 20 minuti a piedi dal Castello di Hikone, considerato bene storico nazionale, e a 12 minuti d'auto dalle rovine del Castello di Sawayama, il Kiyotaki Ryokan offre alloggi in stile... This was probably the best accommodation I had so far. It is true when they say - the further you go from the big cities, the more sympathetic and kind people you meet. I was very skeptical about my stay in the ryokan, as the pictures were not that promising and the price was quite low. As well as the city of Hikone is not that big (probably it is a small town area). But when I came in the evening after a full-day trip, I saw a very well made accommodation, exceptionally clean and a host, who met me with a very warm greeting! He showed me all of the facilities and we had a nice chat. I should admit - it is very important when you are coming late and plus to that you are alone. Later he offered me a dinner and I was more then amazed by how tasty and big it was for that price! I had 5 or more dishes (do not remember exactly as there were a lot), prepared on a beautiful tableware. I really felt like I was home. The lobby area was probably repaired - as it has nothing similar with the photos from the booking.com. Now it has a very clean and light colored design. It was visible from the first sight, that the host treats the hotel as if it was his own house, greeting everyone with open arms and heart. I would dream to meet such hosts in Kyoto, Osaka and other big cities. But so far, I met the best host in Hikone town. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the host-just found his name now.
