This is a great place to stay for when you want to have your own private quiet space (and a bit more space than a typical hotel room), but still want to be cared for by hotel-like staff. We landed on this place because I wanted to stay in a typical Ryokan, but my husband wanted his own bathroom. It was the best stay of our Japan trip out of 3 hotels that were all far above average. It feels very secluded and private, there are around 10 apartments in total and everyone has their own entrance. There's a coin washing machine as well. There is a small breakfast buffet with really great coffee and they provide some free snacks during the day as well I believe. All in all it feels really kind and caring.

Excellent location, fantastic house. Convenient to everything you want or could need. James, the owner, goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay at the house and time in kyoto. His guidebook on what buses to take to attractions was incredibly helpful, and the wall map to show what attraction is in which direction. The 3 bedrooms upstairs allowed our family of 5 to have space, and the upstairs and downstairs toilet was very helpful. The house is located from the west exit at kyoto station, near JR office and trains.

工作人员非常贴心，电子锁的使用方法讲的很详细。一楼客厅挺大的，最满意的是餐桌吃饭办公都很方便，还有带烘干功能的洗衣机太方便了，浴室泡澡还能从窗户看到个小庭院挺惬意的。周围也很安静下次来京都还住这里。

The downstairs bathroom has one indoor and one outdoor private bathtub. The property manager came to provide an overview of the home, taught us how to make macha tea, and made sure we understood how to use the facilities in great English. She also made reservations for us for dinner and for getting cabs to take us to the train station the next morning.
