Operated by the local Nakhi people and enjoying a history of 15 years, Mama Naxi Guesthouse is a family-style hostel offering cosy accommodation in Lijiang. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. We liked everything in here. The owner lady welcomed us at the train station and she didn't charge us for the ride. At the guest house, which is something like less than a 10 minute walk to the old city, she also invited us for a cup of tea. She speaks good English and is very helpful with anything you need. She also makes yummy breakfasts that we didn't find elsewhere in China!!! The furniture at the reception is a bit oldie in our opinion but it simply reflects the Chinese style so don't get discouraged by that. It was all great for us. Great location, short distance from the old town entrance. Nice room and with great view from our balcony. We had a very pleasant stay. Great hospitality from the owners. Fang Jie, the lady owner, was very helpful and attentive. Do ask her for tour and food recommendations, you will not be disappointed.
