Featuring 5 different Japanese baths, traditional foods and 2 saunas, Jomon no Yado Manten is just 200 metres from Yakushima Airport and a 45-minute drive from the Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. This place was amazing. The atmosphere is friendly, nee-san is the most amazing host, and will help everyone plan their travels around yakushima. There's a kitchen to prepare food yourself and I highly recommend nee-san's onigiri for a day out! I love this place and will return there once I can. Stayed at 20+ guesthouses, this one is exceptional.

Situated 25 km from Yakusugi Land, Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie offers 3-star accommodation in Yakushima and features a garden. Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie was a delightful place to stay with very friendly owners who prepared delicious breakfasts for us. Our room was tatami with futons for beds - we found these a little hard to sleep on so requested 'shikibutons', extra futons to go underneath, which did the trick. Our room had an en-suite toilet, but no bath/shower - instead we used the communal bath, which is available from 5pm each evening. The place is only 5min walk from the airport, which makes it incredibly convenient, though it's a drive to restaurants.

Located in Yakushima and only 20 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, Cottage Orange House Yakushima provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The host was very kind, spoke perfect English and went out of his way to help us — making several calls for us. The cottage is extremely spacious and has a full kitchen. We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!

Situated in Yakushima and only 18 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, Yakushima Cottage Kukai features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The owner of the hotel was very hospitable. Ecquiped with Google translator and brought me late at night to grocery shop! Such a lovely plave in the nature. Recommended!!

Situated in Tabugawa, 15 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo and 29 km from Yakusugi Land, 新築貸切 屋久島の地杉香る 完全貸切別荘 家族やグループでの利用にぴったり offers air conditioning. Every tiny details were taken care of here. It was amazing.

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. Very clean, spacious, nice bath products and easy to park. Laundry is included and easy to do.

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko, a property with a garden, is located in Yakushima, 18 km from Yakusugi Land, 26 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, as well as 29 km from Jomon Sugi. Suginoko is an awesome place! If you come to Yakoshima with the ferry, it's not that far away from Anbo and easy to get there of foot, and with the bus as well! The accomodation is clean, cozy, it embraces the nature. Ayumi-san is really helpful and were super nice whenever we had "problems" or questions! Cheers Daniel & Chieri

A 3-minute drive from Ambo Harbour, Yakushima Green Hotel offers Japanese-style and Western rooms with ocean views. I liked the location because it was convenient to three different hiking areas. I had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The nightly dinners allowed me to sample many Japanese delicacies. Staff adapted well to my minimal Japanese language skills and were helpful in areas I needed help. There was good parking space for my rental car and it was convenient to a grocery store.
