Jomon no Yado Manten ligger bara 200 meter från Yakushimas flygplats och 45 minuters bilresa från Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine. Här erbjuds 5 olika japanska bad, traditionell mat och 2 bastur. The location couldn't be better, it is literally across the street from the airport. Bus stops are very plentiful nearby and the hotel staff is very well versed in showing you exactly which buses you need to get to your destination on the island. They are able to call taxis for you if necessary as well. All around wonderful location and very helpful staff!

The atmosphere is friendly, nee-san is the most amazing host, and will help everyone plan their travels around yakushima. There's a kitchen to prepare food yourself and I highly recommend nee-san's onigiri for a day out! I love this place and will return there once I can. Stayed at 20+ guesthouses, this one is exceptional.

Yakushima Pension Ichigoichie was a delightful place to stay with very friendly owners who prepared delicious breakfasts for us. Our room was tatami with futons for beds - we found these a little hard to sleep on so requested 'shikibutons', extra futons to go underneath, which did the trick. Our room had an en-suite toilet, but no bath/shower - instead we used the communal bath, which is available from 5pm each evening. The place is only 5min walk from the airport, which makes it incredibly convenient, though it's a drive to restaurants.

The host was very kind, spoke perfect English and went out of his way to help us — making several calls for us. The cottage is extremely spacious and has a full kitchen. We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer!

At Cottage Morinokokage, guests can rent out a cottage with a hammock. Free WiFi is available in the guest rooms. Very clean, spacious, nice bath products and easy to park. Laundry is included and easy to do.

Yakushima Minsyuku Suginoko ligger i Yakushima, 18 km från Yakusugi Land och 26 km från Shiratani Unsuikyo, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi, luftkonditionering och tillgång till en trädgård. Suginoko is an awesome place! If you come to Yakoshima with the ferry, it's not that far away from Anbo and easy to get there of foot, and with the bus as well! The accomodation is clean, cozy, it embraces the nature. Ayumi-san is really helpful and were super nice whenever we had "problems" or questions! Cheers Daniel & Chieri

Yakushima Green Hotel ligger 3 minuters bilresa från Ambos hamn och erbjuder rum i japansk och västerländsk stil med havsutsikt. I liked the location because it was convenient to three different hiking areas. I had a sea view room which was clean and comfortable. The nightly dinners allowed me to sample many Japanese delicacies. Staff adapted well to my minimal Japanese language skills and were helpful in areas I needed help. There was good parking space for my rental car and it was convenient to a grocery store.
