It is a 40 minute walk to Rosendal Kai (where you get the boat to Salmon Eye & town center with stores). There are buses, but they dont run often so check the schedule. The hike to town is beautiful if the weather is kind, and you'd have to hike for about 10 mins on the highway until the sidewalk appears at Neslia Bus stop. The grounds are very beautiful and peaceful. I never thought that I'd be camping by myself, but for that incredible Iris restaurant experience, it's worth it. Rosendal is a sleepy town, and it seems to me that restaurants are barely open, and if they are the choice for food is quite small. Maybe the town is open more during the weekends? But if you're here on the weekdays, I'd say having access to a full kitchen to make your own food is essential. Public transportation from Stavanger to here is possible (5.5 hrs), and so is public transportation out to Oslo (7.5 hrs). It's multiple bus/ferry transfers, but the ride is amazingly picturesque you dont want to sleep during the entire time.

You will find a kettle in the room. Each room has a shared bathroom. There is also a shared kitchen on site. The staff member was great, specially the girls at the reception. Real nice, friendly and very helpful! They gave us plenty of info for the hike to trolltunga and prepare the lunch box for us. The apartments were really quite and confortable , perfect for resting after the hike.
