The rooms are all large and the massive kitchen was fully stocked. Alba was really friendly and very helpful. I was cooking a roast the first night and the propane ran out. She was immediately on it. The place was clean and my concern about the noise from the bars on the street during this busy holiday season were really not an issue. As my elderly parents had mobility issues, it was great to have an awesome view for them.

The place is situated a short walking distance from the main beachfront restaurants and the center. But even though it is centrally situated it feels very detached from the rest of town in the best way possible. Surrounded by nature in a very tranquil place with an amazing view. To top it off the hosts Jan Luc and Liz are lovely people who were even kind enough to share a home made fresh fish dinner with us. It was also the most reliable internet we had during our 3 week stay in Nicaragua. This is a place where you could easily just stay for a few months to work remotely and feel like you are living the dream.

The apartment was great! It’s a 2 bedroom downstairs in a house with a big porch. The full kitchen & bath both have hot water! There are about 8 houses on the property which is in an ideal location. Because I was a solo traveler Jan-Luc had it priced for use of only one of the bedrooms which was perfect for me. The property is surrounded by local residents which I like. There was no noise from SJDS just sounds of the surrounding neighborhood - kids playing, dogs barking, roosters & birds crowing. I actually extended my stay for almost 2 weeks. After the first week the sheets & towels were changed and the apartment was totally cleaned. Everyone was very friendly - the gardeners, the cleaning lady, the night security guard, other guests & of course, Jan-Luc. Since he lives on the property, he is very available. When I told him I had a 9 am flight out of Managua, he arranged for a taxi to pick me up at 4:30 am for a good price. The nighttime cuidador helped me meet the taxi at the front gate & the taxi driver was punctual & a safe driver.
