We had an amazing stay at Nyumbani residence with my husband and kids. The place is a perfect gate away for families as the apartments are full catered with all you need. Breakfast is really yummy and it’s served every morning at your terrace. Location for us was great as it’s only 5 minutes away from the beach and the local shops. Thank you very much Paola & staff for taking care of us and provide us with an excellent service. I highly recommend!

Also the rooms are very big and with a nice temperature. Very big balcony to chill in without people looking inside because of the curtain you can close if you want. This place exceeded our expectations. Because they have only 3 rooms, this place is really calm and one can relax. We chose this lodge because of the kitchen and it was the best decision ever. It has everything needed to cook and we could prepare our meals during our stay. It felt like our home. We were also lucky as we were alone when we arrived and we were upgraded to the bigger room. It is absolutely luxurious. The lodge itself is beautiful and really good decorated. Moses, Osman and the rest of staff were really nice and helpful at all times. The breakfast is excepcional. Osman prepares the best omelette with veggies and crepes with chocolate. We loved our fruit salad as well. We were looking forward to this every morning! The lodge is located in the village, a couple of meters from the beach, and you can meet all locals here, they are all really welcoming. We would love to come back and we recommend this lodge to anyone that wants a private place in one of the most beautiful places in Zanzibar.

We travelled around the Zanzibar island and chose this hotel for our last two nights and it was the best hotel we stayed in. Everything is attention to detail. The room was perfect and the hotel itself is beautiful and cosy. Such a homely feeling. The owners are wonderful. Breakfast and food at the restaurant was amazing, beach is only 1 minute walk from the hotel. we really enjoyed our stay here and would most definitely stay here again.

We had several restaurants around, on the beach and in the village. We came with a rental car and could easily park. I enjoyed the proximity with local life, far from the big beach resorts. Amka House offers a great comfort with a local life feeling. I thank deeply the manager for her good advice about visits and nice discussion about local life. Also the breakfast was great with a plate of local fresh fruits, a fresh fruit juice, pancakes and omelet.
