My daughter and I stayed at Daisuke's place in Shimanto on our recent Japan holiday. It has been the highlight of our trip. Despite being told by the host to not go on the 439 road we unfortunately didn't notice that's exactly where Google was taking us and had a very scary 30min. The futons were the most comfortable beds so far, and there was plenty of space. Dinner provided and made by the host was delicious and fresh with a surprise seafood platter by his friend. After a day making knives at a local workshop we returned to join Daisuke for dinner at good friends. They were some of the loveliest and liveliest people we have met, amazing food and amazing company all night. Overall, we are definitely going to be returning!

They even took time to take me to a specialized doctor to get some pain relief treatment in my leg, and then showed me around so that afterwards I could feel confortable wandering at Muroto. Finally, definitely take the Spanish menu that the hosts prepare at their own restaurant, excellent experience and excellent food: The best Seafood Paella that I have ever eaten, seriously, that’s a MUST!!! Not a surprise that many Japanese customers come from long distances to enjoy this superb food from Spain. And do no forget to ask for a bit of “allioli” together with your meal.
