Breakfast was very tasty :P lots of choices, all homemade, good balance of sweet and savory! the cakes were so good! Especially the lemon one. They also offered to make an egg for me each morning which was great. All the staff is exceptionally kind and attentive. Also I don’t speak Portuguese well and I understand ok and everyone was super patient with me when I communicated and deliberately spoke slower/ simply to me so I could understand everything! This was very kind and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, area is safe, and it’s a good location- near a less busy beach and hiking trail. I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Good communication throughout the booking process and host very helpful with information on tours and extra activities. Also assisted with transfers from Salvador Marítimo. I picked pousada Halai randomly mainly to escape the Carnaval confusion in Salvador. I was pleasantly surprised by the location, Gamboa, at Morro de São Paulo but very pleased with the Halai pousada. Alllesandra, the proprietor, was extremely congenial, helpful, and efficient as well as her staff. And, the beaches are quite good surrounded by greenery with a quaint village of friendly locals and cantinas.
