The location was absolutely wonderful and our host Michael was very helpful and responsive from the get go. The breakfast (arepas with scrambled eggs and coffee) was always amazing. We had a transportation organised with the hostel, you can pay for this by card for an extra fee.

Halaliku Hostel is located just in front of the ocean, on the beach. The location is perfect and the owners are really friendly and they help you out with anything you need! Very unique directly at a calm beach. You hear waves. Super nice hosts. Really good for surfing. Relaxing. Less mosquitos than expected. Crabs on the beach.

Food was readily available. Depends on the restaurant. The more expensive restaurant had better seasoned food. Prices are still cheaper in this city. The check-in was easy, friendly bilingual staff. The view and sound of the ocean was perfect all night. For years I've played ocean or rainstorm white noise in my room in my house. This was the REAL thing. Truly Amazing! The canoes and kayak on the Rio river is fun. The drinks tasted fantastic a little weak but failed to mention I like them strong, barista was very friendly and polite. Everyone else seemed cool happy and chill, I was with my girlfriend we felt safe.

My stay at Yaku was wonderful. The room was incredibly luxurious and the view was unbeatable. The staff was kind, helpful, and attentive. I would be lucky to stay again!
