Fernando is the most kind host. Hè organised the taxi to get to Mindo, because of the strikes it was hard. The place is amazing, the chefs food is perfect. The view is just like heaven. The location is good for the activities in Mindo (walking distance) And the taxi to the village is cheap so that's not a problem. If you want a special moment, book the room + jacuzzi!

The space was amazing loved the views and the outdoor kitchen. Perfect place for free bird watching. Great place to experience the nature. The host was extremely helpful even when we didn’t have cash on us he vouched for us for the groceries and we could use his laptop for downloading maps on my watch. But we got upgraded to the nice room 😊

We loved our stay at Finca Petrona. We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment facing the West, which faces the mountain/ pure forest. The view is gorgeous, and because you are facing nothing but pure forest, the nights were very quiet. The apartment is very nicely furnished with a living room/ kitchen area and two bedrooms with each having a queen bed with a full bathroom attached. An added bonus was that the internet was very good, which we didn’t expect since rural areas usually don’t have the best internet. Paulina and Eric were great hosts who provided us with answers to our questions and a delicious breakfast every morning. My spouse suffered from some altitude sickness, and Paulina was very kind and prepared tea for his upset stomach. She also suggested and gave us the number to the local restaurant so that we would not have to travel far for lunch (by the way the food was also delicious). Something we did not expect was that the location was very convenient in that you did not have to travel far for your needs. Yunguilla is a very nice little town with a cute community store with fresh yogurt, cheese, and other products. The restaurant is usually open on the weekend but can accommodate if you call as we did during the week. Also, the town of Calacali is only about 3.5 miles away, which has many little restaurants and four delicious bakeries in the cute town square – “la plaza”. If you want to get away and enjoy nature, we strongly recommend staying here.

The owner was very helpful person, even though there was a language barrier, he came to help us to tow our car when we got into trouble stucked in the mud when turning the wrong road. Sadly due to short of time we couldn't attend any tours that he organizes by himself but I highly recommend to do it. Room and bathroom were super clean.

The facilities are fantastic. The main living area is surrounded by lovely vegetation and is an excellent place to just sit and do nothing. The staff were amazing, incredibly friendly and helpful. The kitchen was the best I've had in Ecuador. The dorms had great storage. And all of that for just $10 a night. Awesome value.

Henrry is a very welcoming, friendly and funny person. Location of the hostel is in prime location, also step away from Bus terminal. Henrry managed for our tubing trip , it was an awesome. This hostel is best for solo and families.
