A warm welcome by Thierry in an amazing well restored old town house. We enjoyed the pink room of "madam" with very comfortable beds. A sumptuous breakfast is served in the breakfast room but the most enjoyable room was the "lounge" where you could relax after being out and enjoy 24/7 coffee & thea with soft background music. This is a beautiful setting, right along & in view of the Loire river. Our stay felt very private & secluded as the priory is accessed behind a set of gates & very secure. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Gilles, who generously offered suggestions for sites to see in the area & shared his personal time with us on more than one occasion. A very nice breakfast is offered in a room where you are surrounded by some of the family’s exquisite glassware & dish collections. The various jams are fait maison (homemade), along with fresh pressed orange juice & a selection of pastries. Our room was comfortable (a bit chilly on arrival, but we were given a heater to use which was perfect) and we were provided with fresh towels every day. In summary, our stay here was the epitome of French hospitality. We would highly recommend a stay at Le Prieuré & would definitely return.
