Loved the town. Semur is one of the most beautiful, charming towns I have been to in France, and we have lived in France for 15 years now. The apartment is very small, but really well-decorated and Cecile has made brilliant use of very little space. The location is excellent. Parking was not a problem. We had breakfast the next morning at another property, also lovely. 8 euros for a standard French breakfast (baguette, croissants, butter, jam, yogurt, coffee/tea). There are a number of reviews complaining about "pornography". There is no porn. The owner is clearly an artist and she has paintings and ceramics celebrating the female form. It seems like some prudish people need to loosen up!

This is one of my very favorite stays with Booking. Cecile is an adorable, welcoming hostess and a great artist. Staying in this old mansion with lovely wood furnishings was such a treat. The views of ancient towers along the river was breathtakingly picturesque....birds singing as the morning sun came up. Finding security and calm in the heart of an old walled city was such a treat. The outdoor patio with its panaramic view is more than you can imagine. When I entered the ancient doorway, I said to Cecile, "I haven't even stayed here yet, and I want to return." My opinion never changed.

It was a lovely house in a picturesque and quiet area. We had a wonderful rest and an nice breakfast with fresh croissants. The owner of the house was very kind and suggested a ideal itinerary though historical villages and monasteries.

Claire was a super and friendly host, our room was huge, yet cosy and warm (-5 outside). We loved the open plan and the big bath too. Very thoughtful extra touches, tea and coffee and toiletries. The town itself is picture postcard and the cottage is very central, but on a quiet street. The surrounding countryside is great, and we enjoyed a day out at Parc de L'Auxois (approx 8miles away), which was perfect for our kids (4&6). I would highly recommend the accommodation and the setting.

It is very modern and comfortable inside, bordering on luxury. The host and hostess are very welcoming. A short walk takes you into a charming, unspoilt old town, complete with quiet river walk.
