What a cozy little find this place was. There were lots of features from the original coaching inn and you really could enjoy the history of the place. Our room was big and well-appointed with all mod cons and immaculately clean. The room we were allocated was on the ground floor, as we had specifically requested and our late check in was easily accommodated. There was separate main entrance for our rooms so we were not disturbed in any way by the pub, but it was a nice old untied village pub with real ales and local ciders so we wouldn't have minded anyway. The room was very warm with traditional central heating we are used to at home so we could have it as warm as we liked (and we like it warm!). The food was amazing and the prices very good indeed. We had fresh hake with vegetables in a lovely sauce and the roast lunch with all the trimmings was superb. They even make their own bread. What made the experience exceptional was the staff - they could not do enough for us and were attentive to even the smallest request. We will definitely be returning.

very nice room, useful facilities (fridge, sink, cutlery & crockery, microwave, etc), large TV, large bathroom with tub. Freshly cooked breakfast included in price. Parking was free & not far from hotel. Spaces directly at the hotel were all taken as the hotel was fully booked. Staff was friendly & helpful.

gorgeous pub and village. people were friendly. met the local canines. fell in love with Eddie the rescue greyhound. met his famous dad , sci-fi author Nick Adam’s. this one is not to be missed. great night

There wasn’t breakfast, it’s advertised as bed and breakfast you pay for bed and breakfast yet on arrive you find out via a fact sheet that due to Covid breakfast won’t be provided, if I knew that before I would have stayed somewhere else
