We love this casa so much! The entire stay was amazing. I love how the owner is very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The casa itself is beautiful and we can tell that the owner put efforts on adding the little touches to create a beautiful ambiance overall. It was also wonderful how they have access to a private dock! It was quiet and no one is around to bother you. We go there every morning, lay and watch the sunrise. They also provide a kayak we can use. I thought that was thoughtful. Overall, I highly recommend this casa! Perfect location especially if you like the privacy!

The location was spectacular - our room (and I believe this is true for all of the rooms) had unobstructed views of the volcanoes and massive lake views. Very easy to navigate by boat, tuk tuk or walking if you don't mind unpaved roads and a little dust. Dita, John and the staff were awesome...felt like we were at home but in paradise. It's a great place to relax, enjoy a day in San Marcos and/or Panajachel. We went to Santiago by boat for a few hours and if you're lucky to go on market day, it's very colorful and intriguing.

We had a very good experience at this brand new local-Mayan-Family run hostal. The rooms were exceptionally clean, big and we had complete privacy, the hostel guests have their own lovely balcony. The hostal manager, Candelaria, will help you with anything you need, just ask. This is a very reasonable price especially when compared to others in the area. Plus it’s truly locally run! They were extremely nice and helpful. Yes street dogs were noisy at night but I think you are going to have that at every hostal in town as the dogs are all over. Because it’s so new not everyone will know how to direct you there when you get off the boat. It’s just a 3 minute walk from the dock. Follow the path from the dock to the main street, turn right and walk along the main road until the end. Turn right and the hostal is directly across from the Casa Madera sign. It is a wooden door with a small cafe sign: See my photo. We didn’t know how to find them so we messaged on whatsapp and they came immediately and walked us back. Highly recommend Hostal Deja Vu!

Great location - in the centre so super convenient but on a quiet side street. As a solo female traveler I felt safe in this neighbourhood. The terrace (full of beautiful plants) is wonderful and the view of the lake is magnificent. The room is basic and clean. I stayed in the king room that has direct access to the terrace. It is slightly more expensive than other rooms but comes with private bathroom. And having direct access to the terrace is a great bonus (makes it feel private as well :) ) The owner is around for any questions or advice if needed. Both him and his family are super nice and respect guests privacy. I highly recommend this hostel and would be happy to stay there again if I ever return to San Pedro.

It was very close to where the Maya Nose starting trail. And the room we stayed has the perfect view of the mirador and the Maya Nose.

Great place with beautiful garden and cool outside space to chill in a hammock (or work), perfectly working wifi (they even have two separate wifis for outside and inside), nice kitchen (where you even get your own cupboard), very friendly staff. It's directly in the centre of the village, just few minutes away from the docks. Room was nice with comfy bed, table and a wardrobe.
