An absolute gem of a place! The lady who runs the house is so sweet and made me feel right at home. The room was sooo quiet and private. The house is decorated adorably with thoughtful touches and personal to the owner. The roof top was such a nice surprise. I felt like I was the only guest because everyone was so quiet and respectful. Highly recommend. Close to everything and short walk to transit station.

Unlike other hostels, as long as you take the initiative, you get to know more about the locals staying in Kumamoto here through their frequent gatherings over the dinner time and they always welcome you. They even organised a takoyaki party for me and taught me how to cook it. Also inviting to join the bamboo shoot harvest! What a real experience that I appreciate so much! Highly recommended!
