Fantastic place! What an amazing stay! Cosy room. Comfy beds. Clean and quiet! Wonderful hosts! Thank you very much, Col and Leo, for your warmhearted generosity. There is now free Wi-Fi at the place. Tipp: after Col‘s delicious breakfast have a look at Leo‘s astonishing museum. And lying in bed listen in the evening with open window to the birds in this unique garden!

property and house was super cool with original fixtures and wood everywhere. Booking provided separate bedroom, with little porch off the bedroom, private bath with soaker tub, large private sitting room with amazing windows overlooking gardens with songbirds offering free entertaining, and private breakfast nook. Host was super friendly and accommodating for breakfast request (asked for yogurt and got home made yogurt).

We chose it last minute as a resting spot while driving to Akaroa. Great and relaxing stay. Hosts were wonderful. Not only we felt very welcome, git recommendations on the area, but also got a great breakfast. Everything is very clean and cosy. Area felt very safe. There is a nice patio. Private parking spot. Exceptional value.

Excellent facilities, Rhys and Anna are very friendly and helpfull in providing travel information. Breakfast was extensive, you can select from a variety dishes which are prepared freshly. Kotare is located in a beautyfull landscape and can also serve as a base camp for a longer stay.

Breakfast was excellent and beautifully served with extra attention to detail. Different cereals with milk and stewed fruit. Lots of hot coffee , freshly made toast and very tasty marmalade

We stayed one night from 20 to 21 March in this gracious heritage property. We enjoyed the traditional furnishings and comfort. It was great to have a separate living area with a couch and dining table. The bedroom was beautiful with a comfortable bed, with feather pillows. The morning sun streamed in across the lovely gardens, too. All in all, a delightful stay.
