The couple who owns the place are so nice, even though they hardly speak English they tried so hard to communicate and make our stay even more enjoyable. Also very early breakfast (with local products) was no problem. Honestly one of the nicest people we ever met.

Our stay was really nice ! The room was very comfy and had a good size, the bed was also very comfortable. The pictures don't do justice to the place! Is a very good base to hike the Grand Bassin or Pitón de la Fournaise (is like 50 min drive to the parking where starts the hike. The road is quiet good, so it could even done during the night if you want to start your hike early and avoid staying in the Volcan Gite). Remember to book your dinner in advance! Our dinner had very nice starters, soup and the main dishes were shrimp and chicken curries! Dessert, punch and wine included, really worth it ! Breakfast is also offered starting at 07:00 in the morning.

Perfectly located for a hike to Fournaise. We were welcomed by the owner very friendly and she showed us all facilities. Everything was clean and comfortable. Also the nice fireplace in the guest room was absolutely wonderful. Next morning we went for the hike at 2:30 am and believe it or not.... Breakfast was prepared! If we could give higher rating than 10, we would definitely do it!
