York Lodge is made of charming English bungalows (with modern amenities) in a lush green compound. Our compliments to Margot the owner for developing such a beautiful property with a blend of foliage (old trees and new plants and green islands) It was like staying in a botanical garden. Lounging on the broad verandahs, hearing sounds of birds and insects in the air conditioned temperature of Harare was bliss. The bungalows have modern amenities and this really helped us unwind!

The Hawks Bed & Breakfast is the best in town located in a leafy suburb of Hillside just at the edge of the Harare City Centre. Very professional staff who make you feel at home while you are away from home. I had my daughter stay there doing her revision classes in Harare while me and my wife were away at work. My daughter felt safe and secure and had to return a couple of times to complete her assignments. Booking was easy through Booking.com but not directly at Reception as they appear not to have a payment receiving system like a card machine or BACS. You are best off booking through Booking.com. Rates are cheaper as well on Booking.Com than when you book directly through the B&B itself. Apart from the payment method you are home and dry at the Hawks.
