Victoria is 30 km from the bed and breakfast. The nearest airport is Victoria International Airport, 68 km from Shawnigan Hill B and B. Breakfast was exceptional, more than we needed. The size of the space was palatial, and exceptionally quiet with views across the valley and onto nearby trees. The area was semi rural making for a particularly good getaway. Its going to be difficult to give 10 to any other stays from now on.

The most beautiful view of the bay you can imagine with direct access in the back of the B&B on the property. You can borrow kayaks if you want. One of the owners is a 5-star chef, and breakfast was amazing. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, nice bathroom with amenities and plenty of towels as needed. Hosts are awesome and kind.

Nimpkish Hotel is located on the beachfront in Alert Bay, Cormorant Island. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. There is a barbecue and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. What a fantastic place! Very warm welcome from Penba and his husband who are managing this beautiful hotel. We looooved the oceanfront outside patio which got everything to feel cozy and relaxed : hammock, comfy sofas, you name it! Very quiet, room and the whole hotel was sparkling! Penba is also a wonderful cook so we had dinner in the bright living room, gazing at the ocean while eating a super flavourful homemade palek paneer! I walked all along the seaside and up to see the world's tallest totem pole, and looked at all the Kwakwa̱ka̱ʼwakw art and history along the walk. So instructive and beautiful! Did not go to the cultural center as I arrived too late but it is a good excuse to come back and stay at the Nimpkish Hotel again!

Host Bob was so very welcoming and shared his great knowledge of the area and pointed us in the directions of some beautiful sights. the home has everything you could need to relax, rest and enjoy the lovely Courtenay area. thanks Bob, your kind welcome and guidance really made our stay something special.
