José, Matilde, Inti, and Joselito are all such kind and personable people - I was here during Inti Raymi and José invited me to join for a ritual bathing ceremony practiced by many of the indigenous people, and explained the significance of it all. Beyond the hospitality, the rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable and if you want it, single rooms are very affordable. On top of this, Inti offers a taxi service (well known as the ‘Inti Taxi’ haha) and can bring you wherever you need! During one of my days here I took the ‘Inti Taxi’ to El Lechero and the Condor Park and Inti was able to share tons of information about these places. This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to visit and immerse yourself in the Otavaleño culture. I also learned some Kichwa from the family as well.

They prepared us dinner one night which was great! The house is super cute and clean, love the view to the lake. The town is safe to walk I'm at night. Make sure to go to Bambu Grill. Great place to eat.

Each dish is thought and prepared with loads of love and intention. Starting from picking out the best ingredients from the nearby farms to producing beautiful and delicious food. We honestly feel rejuvenated and it is hard to leave. Thank you Curtis for your delicious food and hospitality :)

Hacienda San Isidro De Iltaqui ligt op 3 km van het commerciële centrum van Cotacachi en biedt gratis WiFi en ontbijt. De Hacienda is heel rustig gelegen. De weg ernaar toe is wel wat hobbelig. We werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen door Michella, de receptioniste. Het ontbijt en het diner waren voortreffelijk. Ook de eigenaresse kwam regelmatig een praatje met ons maken hetgeen een heel persoonlijk en huiselijk gevoel gaf. De kamer was schoon. 's Avonds koelde het erg af en werd er een warme kruik in het bed gelegd!
