(For the record I speak a little of jaoanese) I had to stop one night here because Nagano was too far from Nagiso. But in the end I am glad I did. Sakashita is NOT a tourist town, there are no konbini, and likely there wont be a lot of english around. However, what lacks in english makes up in friendly rural Japan vibes <3 Had to do laundry and get dinner and Ashi-san helped me through both of those matters. I had some beer and okonomiyaki in a local restaurant where evdrbody was having a great time watching a baseball match, had a great meal and chatted up with the super friendly locals. The traditional garden was amazing to put some shakuhachi vibes in the background and let yourself drift in time.

Guest House Motomiya ligger i Magome-kvarteret i Nakatsugawa, 20 km fra Enakyo Wonderland og 40 km fra landsbyen Japan Taisho. Der tilbydes rolig gadeudsigt og fælles opholdsstue. Supervenlig og gæstfri værtinde. Vi følte os virkelig velkommen, og hun tilbragte meget tid med fx at lære os origami. Fantastisk flot og velsmagende mad. Stilfuldt japansk hjem.

Guesthouse Nedoko ligger i Nakatsugawa, 21 km fra Ōi og 21 km fra Enakyo Wonderland. Der er bjergudsigt. The location is perfect! Magome is very special and it felt very unique sleeping here and being there at night with no tourists. The design of the hotel is also very nice. Everything worked perfectly and the staff was very kind and helped us with dinner reservations and with local recommendations. The Nakansendo trail to Tsumago was a highlight of our trip and I totally recommend spending a night/s here to do it :)

Guesthouse Gifu SUAI ligger i Gifu, 29 km fra Nagoya Slot og 30 km fra Nagoya Station, og har udsigt til haven og den indre gårdhave. Really great hosts. Cute animals too :) -Sandro

Tajimi Guest House ligger midt i naturen, 3 km fra Tajimi Station, og tilbyder solterrasse samt udsigt over haven. It’s a quiet location, which is nice. First time in years that I have slept without earplugs. Good to know: you can not bathe at the guesthouse. I was a bit scared of using the Onsen at first, but ended up loving it. The hosts are such nice people. They made my stay even better, thank you so much.

Guest House & Cafe SOY ligger omgivet af frodige grønne områder, 15 minutters bustur fra JR Takayama Station. Der er gratis WiFi og gratis privat parkering på stedet. We were treated each morning to an absolutely superb breakfast, and Tai was an extremely welcoming host. The place was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Many thanks to Tai for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Legend.

Auberge Hidanomori blev genåbnet efter renovering i 2022. Det ligger i rolige bakker, 10 minutters kørsel fra JR Takayama Station. Exceptional - the location is stunning, the owners so warm and friendly, the dinner was truly an experience - the paired wines really elevated the experience. The decor has been carefully thought out. The onsen was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best meals/experiences I have had. The owners and staff deserve real credit for how much attention to detail, creativity, love and perfection they have put into this place. 10/10 experience, we hope to come back!!!

Guesthouse Tomaru ligger blot 2 minutters gang fra JR Takayama Station og Takayama Nohi Bus Center og tilbyder renoveret indkvartering i 80 år gammel japansk stil. The owners are lovely people, really helpful and welcoming. They will give you the best recommendations to visit and eat while you stay in Takayama. Nice and clean installations. Really centric. Good quality-price relation. I would definitely stay here again.

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. This liitle inn has characters. The amenities, cleanliness and location are excellent.

ROMANSTAY har en attraktiv beliggenhed i centrum af Takayama og tilbyder balkon, aircondition, gratis wi-fi og fladskærms-tv. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.
