(For the record I speak a little of jaoanese) I had to stop one night here because Nagano was too far from Nagiso. But in the end I am glad I did. Sakashita is NOT a tourist town, there are no konbini, and likely there wont be a lot of english around. However, what lacks in english makes up in friendly rural Japan vibes <3 Had to do laundry and get dinner and Ashi-san helped me through both of those matters. I had some beer and okonomiyaki in a local restaurant where evdrbody was having a great time watching a baseball match, had a great meal and chatted up with the super friendly locals. The traditional garden was amazing to put some shakuhachi vibes in the background and let yourself drift in time.

Objekat Guest House Motomiya, koji se nalazi u gradu Nakatsugava, na 20 km od znamenitosti Ōi i 20 km od znamenitosti Enakyo Wonderland, nudi smeštaj sa zajedničkim salonom, kao i besplatan privatni... A spacious and beautifully decorated Japanese-style room.  Meals at the level of Michelin stars.  The food is delicious to the mouth and to the eyes as well.  A welcoming hostess.  Breathtaking view.  What else does a person need to have fun?  We really enjoyed staying here.

Objekat Guesthouse Nedoko je smešten na idealnoj lokaciji u gradu Nakatsugava, i to u četvrti Magome, na 21 km od znamenitosti Ōi, 21 km od znamenitosti Enakyo Wonderland i 42 km od znamenitosti Japan... The location is perfect! Magome is very special and it felt very unique sleeping here and being there at night with no tourists. The design of the hotel is also very nice. Everything worked perfectly and the staff was very kind and helped us with dinner reservations and with local recommendations. The Nakansendo trail to Tsumago was a highlight of our trip and I totally recommend spending a night/s here to do it :)

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Tajimi Guest House is set in the middle of nature, 3 km from Tajimi Station. It’s a quiet location, which is nice. First time in years that I have slept without earplugs. Good to know: you can not bathe at the guesthouse. I was a bit scared of using the Onsen at first, but ended up loving it. The hosts are such nice people. They made my stay even better, thank you so much.

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site. We were treated each morning to an absolutely superb breakfast, and Tai was an extremely welcoming host. The place was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Many thanks to Tai for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Legend.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. Exceptional - the location is stunning, the owners so warm and friendly, the dinner was truly an experience - the paired wines really elevated the experience. The decor has been carefully thought out. The onsen was really enjoyable. Probably one of the best meals/experiences I have had. The owners and staff deserve real credit for how much attention to detail, creativity, love and perfection they have put into this place. 10/10 experience, we hope to come back!!!

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. The owners are lovely people, really helpful and welcoming. They will give you the best recommendations to visit and eat while you stay in Takayama. Nice and clean installations. Really centric. Good quality-price relation. I would definitely stay here again.

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. This liitle inn has characters. The amenities, cleanliness and location are excellent.

Smeštajni objekat ROMANSTAY, na atraktivnoj lokaciji u centru grada Takajama, u ponudi ima klimatizovane jedinice sa besplatnim WiFi internetom i besplatnim privatnim parkingom. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.
