The trip to the bathroom during the night was somewhat difficult for us. The bedroom was on the upper floor in the lovely traditional Japanese house. The narrow stairway was challenging for us. There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.

Kuniyo-san was very nice, welcoming and friendly. Her cooking was amazing, totally delicious and beautiful washoku. when I asked for vegetarian washoku, she made me amazing dishes with local ingredients. She even dropped me off to the train station. Totally recommended!

Excellent stay at this beautiful guest house during our cycle around Lake Biwa! It's an absolute gem of a place. The property itself is very well maintained, with traditional features throughout (such as the tatami room and the Kotatsu in the living room). The owners were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back! Highly recommended.

Jonni`s Place localiza-se em Sakamoto, a 14 km de Monte Hiei e 14 km de Templo Enryaku-ji. Jonni is a really great host, he's very relaxed, kind and accommodating. The neighborhood around his house is absolutely stunning during the day, great to walk around in.

guest house AN is a 5-minute walk from Keihan Nakanosho Train Station and a 20-minute walk and train ride from JR Kyoto Station. Shuji and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. Though the 90-minute check-in procedure is a bit lengthy but Shuji does it so both of you and him can have a good experience. Once you check in, you’re pretty much left to your own device. Would come back to AN if I visit Otsu again.
