JamboHouse Lamu bevindt zich in Lamu, in de buurt van Lamu Fort, Gallery Baraka en Lamu Museum. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi en een terras. We absolutely loved every aspect of our stay at the JamboHouse. Arnold welcomes you with a series of recommendations and a welcome drink. The room is cozy, internet and water are working. We were grateful for the information about local restaurants and activities that can be arranged. We did both the sunset walking tour and the dhow sunset tour and enjoyed both of them very much. The view from the terrace is very nice and the breakfast is spectacular. Thank you once again for everything. If we are back in Lamu, we will definitely stay here again.

Jua House biedt uitzicht op de stad, een terras en gratis WiFi. De accommodatie is aantrekkelijk gelegen in Lamu, op korte afstand van Manda Beach, Shela Beach en Mnarani House. We werden bij de boot opgehaald door twee medewerkers van Jua House. Dat was direct een warm ontvangst. Ons gehele verblijf hebben we ontzettend genoten. De B&B was prachtig. Alle elementen kloppen, de energie is heerlijk. Elke dag keken we ook weer uit naar het ontbijt en de zoetigheid om 16 die uit eigen bakkerij kwam. Dank voor dit heerlijke verblijf, ik zal het iedereen aanraden! Ohja en de douche is de fijnste die we in Kenia hebben gehad, jammer dat lang douchen geen optie is op het eiland…

Dit historische gebouw in Arabische stijl ligt in de door UNESCO beschermde stad Lamu. Het ligt op minder dan 300 meter van de kust en op 3 km van het witte zandstrand. Ongelooflijk mooi, imposant herenhuis (in oude centrum, direct achter het fort) met veel historie en een exotische, artistieke styling. Alle bezienswaardigheden en strand op loopafstand. Allerliefste ontvangst door eigenaren Christina & Paul en manager Mohamed. Geweldige service van de staf en heerlijke diners (optioneel) aan feestelijke tafel. De eco-visie wordt hier oprecht gevoeld en uitgedragen. Vraag om rondleiding op de boerderij, waar permacultuur wordt gepraktiseerd. Erg de moeite waard! Wandel daarna terug naar Subira House via de stranden en je hebt een top-dag! Ik zou heel, héél graag terugkomen op mijn volgende reis naar Kenia!

Beytsalam ligt op 300 m van Lamu Fort en biedt accommodatie met een gemeenschappelijke lounge, een terras en een gedeelde keuken. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. Breakfast was really nice, with a choice between Swahili and English style and it was served on the cozy rooftop terrace with views of the sea. I was lucky to be upgraded to their spacious and well-appointed "executive" suite on the third floor. Omar and Lilian were great to deal with at breakfast and with laundry etc., I appreciated the help they provided in many ways and look forward to coming again.

Wildebeeste Lamu heeft accommodatie in Lamu, dicht bij 18th Century Swahili House Museum en Riyadha Mosque. This place never disappoints. This was my second time staying here and it still exceeded my expectations. The flat I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed with some artful collections of antique Swahili style furniture. There was access to a private fully equipped kitchenette with an adjacent outdoor dining/ lounging area. The room was airy and well ventilated and also had a very spacious bathroom that had great shower pressure! Joshua is an exceptional host, responsive, warm and welcoming and very attentive. He has even made provisions for Solar lights in case of power outages which were infrequent during my stay and only lasted a few minutes at a time. The Wilderbeeste provides all the comforts and necessities of a home away from home yet its quirky and historical design provides a sense of adventure and novelty needed for a retreat! Can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Banana House and Wellness Centre beschikt over een buitenzwembad en ligt in het dorp Shela, Lamu, op 2,7 km van Gallery Baraka. De accommodatie ligt op 2,8 km van Lamu Fort. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.

Pwani House - Lamu Seafront biedt accommodatie in Lamu, dicht bij Gallery Baraka en Riyadha Mosque. Naast gratis WiFi heeft de accommodatie een terras en een binnenbad. Perfect sunrise over the water, beautiful spacious room. Super beautifully decorated! Loved our stay here!

Shela Bahari bevindt zich in Shela, op een paar minuten lopen van Manda Beach en 3 minuten lopen van Shela Beach. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi, airconditioning, een gedeelde lounge en een terras.... Tawfiq and Baraka were great hosts! They took care of everything and made sure we had an easy, pleasant, and enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the water and gets a nice breeze. The restaurant downstairs has good food - both local and Western options - and a large selection of gelatos. We loved having an opportunity to relax, slow down a bit, enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, and interact with the locals. Tawfiq even organized for a boat to take us to and from the airport and for a sunset dhow ride on our second night.

Furaha House ligt op een paar minuten lopen van Manda Beach, en biedt accommodatie in Shela met toegang tot een terras, een restaurant, en een gedeelde keuken. Our host Kazunga was fantastic! He cooked delicious meals for us, set up tours, and showed us around town.

Het Mangrove House ligt tegenover de kust op het eiland Manda en beschikt over een eigen strand. Tot de faciliteiten behoren barbecuefaciliteiten en een tuin. Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!
