Arnold welcomes you with a series of recommendations and a welcome drink. The room is cozy, internet and water are working. We were grateful for the information about local restaurants and activities that can be arranged. We did both the sunset walking tour and the dhow sunset tour and enjoyed both of them very much. The view from the terrace is very nice and the breakfast is spectacular. Thank you once again for everything. If we are back in Lamu, we will definitely stay here again.

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Beautiful, historic building with genuine efforts to be ecologically sustainable eg no plastics etc Outstandingly friendly and helpful hosts and staff. Really well-prepared and sourced organic food eg home-made breads, jams, yogurt etc, often from their own permaculture "samba".

Set 300 metres from Lamu Fort, Beytsalam offers accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Complimentary WiFi is offered. Breakfast was really nice, with a choice between Swahili and English style and it was served on the cozy rooftop terrace with views of the sea. I was lucky to be upgraded to their spacious and well-appointed "executive" suite on the third floor. Omar and Lilian were great to deal with at breakfast and with laundry etc., I appreciated the help they provided in many ways and look forward to coming again.

This was my second time staying here and it still exceeded my expectations. The flat I stayed in was spacious and thoughtfully designed with some artful collections of antique Swahili style furniture. There was access to a private fully equipped kitchenette with an adjacent outdoor dining/ lounging area. The room was airy and well ventilated and also had a very spacious bathroom that had great shower pressure! Joshua is an exceptional host, responsive, warm and welcoming and very attentive. He has even made provisions for Solar lights in case of power outages which were infrequent during my stay and only lasted a few minutes at a time. The Wilderbeeste provides all the comforts and necessities of a home away from home yet its quirky and historical design provides a sense of adventure and novelty needed for a retreat! Can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Banana House and Wellness Centre is located in Shela village, Lamu 2.7 km from Gallery Baraka. The property is set 2.8 km from Lamu Fort. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff is always available and welcoming. We have access to a wide range of activities and the hotel is well located, in the center of Shilla and a few minutes by walk from the beach.

Tawfiq and Baraka were great hosts! They took care of everything and made sure we had an easy, pleasant, and enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the water and gets a nice breeze. The restaurant downstairs has good food - both local and Western options - and a large selection of gelatos. We loved having an opportunity to relax, slow down a bit, enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, and interact with the locals. Tawfiq even organized for a boat to take us to and from the airport and for a sunset dhow ride on our second night.

Facing the seafront on Manda Island, Mangrove House features a private beach area. Among the various facilities are barbecue facilities and a garden. Our stay on Manda’s side at Mangrove House was truly wonderful. The location is unmatched, the peace and quiet are absolute. The staff is wonderful and so is the owner, super attentive and ready to help and share. The house is right in front of Shela and Peponi hotel, just a short boat trip away. Would absolutely go back, and recommend it to everyone going to Lamu!
