Tony and his crew are extremely helpful and nice people. It is always a pleasure to be welcomed with a warm smile. Room and common toilet are very clean and confortable. They are basic but more than enough for the price. Breakfast was delicious (it is a pitty that I could have it only one day) and I liked also the water refilling station. Tony helped me to organise my trip around Jaffna penninsula and Delft island. It was a pleasure to be hosted in Tony's Garden House inn and would repeat with no doubt.

Where do I even begin… Anathan’s place was an oasis, a safe haven for me after I spent a few days in the hectic and chaotic Colombo. From the very first moment that I arrived to the very last minute that I left, I always felt taken care of, spoiled almost, and above everything, I felt at home. In fact, Anathan’s place was so comfortable, so peaceful that it felt almost difficult to get out and explore the town. Obviously a home isn’t a home without its host. And for that, I have to thank Ananthan for going above and beyond to provide me with a comfortable stay. He always made sure that I had enough for breakfast, always asked if I wanted more tea and coffee (and yes, please), and even brought me along to the ceremonies at the Nallur temple where his family and friends were also there, welcoming me with unparalleled warmth and hospitality. Even though I was a solo traveller, I had never felt lonely during the entire stay. Ananthan was always there should I need anything. It brought me great joy and peace just to sit by the patio and listen to the singing of the birds and the rustling of the trees. I was sad that I could not stay longer. And I’d return, time and again.

We really liked Betty’s Cottage and the owners were really nice. They booked our bus from Colombo to Jaffna which was a huge help, and they waited up until 4 am for us to arrive. We had only booked the place for the following night so they charged us half a day. The breakfast offered was fine, nothing to rave about. The WiFi is really good! The hosts are also nice and very dedicated to making sure we got everything we needed.

Situated within 1.5 km of Jaffna Railway Station and 1.7 km of Nallur Kandaswamy Temple in Jaffna, Gatetrees resort provides accommodation with seating area. Everything about Gatetrees was great, especially Karna, the manager. I learned many things from our conversations, and enjoyed watching Karna perform the rituals for the first day of Pongal. The rice dish he cooked was very tasty. Karna organized a tuk tuk tour of Jaffna peninsula for me with Sinthu. Sinthu showed me many interesting sights. He also told me about Tamil history and current Jaffna customs. I recommend Gatetrees to anyone.
